It's been over a month since I logged on, wow. I guess this year is flying by. In the last month I've traveled to Seattle and San Diego; celebrated about 100 birthdays (give or take) and have been burning the candle at both ends. I've missed the last two days of work with a shitty cold, which I'm hoping will end soon!
Hope you are all well!

current drink: tea

And now we come to the winter of my discontent, well, I will soon be in that shape. I'm getting my tonsils out tomorrow afternoon. I figure a couple weeks of serious pain will make up for the lost time I have spent over the last few years with strep throat. As a bonus, any lucky peeps sleeping with me will no longer have to deal with any snoring!
I'm taking two weeks off work. A vacation of a sorts. I really should not have looked up adult tonsillectomy recovery on the googles. One lady compared her recovery with natural child birth. I'm too big a pussy for that.
The last few weeks I've seen some good bands, had some great nights out with friends, but I'm sorta looking forward to convalescence, especially the reading I plan to do. Reading, 3 @ a time from Netflix and adding HBO should do the trick. I hope I get good drugs.
So, I'll be out of action for a while, but will be on the net/computer when I have a little mental clarity. Take care, be good!

next few on iTunes shuffle and random lyrics or thoughts about them:
Apologies to Insect Life: British Sea Power (Gymnastic-whores-down-on-all-fours-with-septic-pores-from-fucked-up-
bores-I-would-like-to-give-you-more-my lassie)
Hunting High and Low: a-ha (beautiful love song)
Low Life: The Police (I, too, have a Fatal fascination for the seedy part of town.)
Publish My Love: Rogue Wave (another great love song. I think 95% of songs are love songs though)
I Held Her in My Arms: Violent Femmes (almost ska-like)
Shaking the Tree (Live): Peter Gabriel (he's top notch, but doesn't get much props)
Anonymous Collective: Stereolab (you and me are moulded by things
well beyond our acknowlegment )
White Riot: The Clash (huzzah for The Clash!!)
Show Don't Tell: Rush (just watched a 30th Anniversary concert film of Rush last night. I want to see them live someday)
Madder: Groove Armada (this is a total jam!!)

I just got back home from a lunch date. It was an interesting one, but I'm not smitten or anything. We actually met through an application on my iPhone. The Man Machine love technology.
I have no plans for a Friday night. I got paid today, so I feel like doing something, but I'm also broke again because of stupid rent and bills. (curses!)
I was on a cleaning kick most of the day prior to lunch. I think I will finish it up. Kitchen floor, vacuum and also steam clean the carpet mats from my car. Lots of snow and melt have them a lil stinky. Also, I think I will have some tea and listen to tunes. Yeah, that's the ticket. Load up Pandora.com on my phone, plug into stereo and I gots some tunes pumping!
If anything is worth my attention, let me know.
Happy new year!

Merry Christmas everyone. I was in a foul, melancholy mood yesterday, but I snapped out of it.
So far my day has consisted of watching Prince Caspian and lots of hoops. I have had plenty of coffee and got the chains off the car. (more of a workout than putting them on) I'm about to wander out to SE PDX to see some peeps and hope to find an open gas station and titty bar. Yay for a day off!
bb
PS: I've also re-joined some groups I used to be in. If you have some that I should check out, please let me know!

Drink: Heineken
Dinner: roast beef, green beans and some kick ass mashed potato!
Mood: snowed in and enjoying the Minnesota like week we've had in the PDX.
My friends are safe, I'm warm, it's all good. I may not be going anywhere for Xmas if this keeps up. I won't be the only one in that boat, so we'll make the most of it I am sure.
If anyone is a Mad Men fan, what should I dress as when I go to a Mad Men themed New Year's Eve party? I've never seen the show.
That's about it.
