A Fair Weekend
Saturday afternoon was the Little Five Points Halloween Parade. Wyspurr and I took the kids and joined Ocean, Stitch, Rosie, and holierthancow. It was okay. Nothing too thrilling, but the kids enjoyed it and sometimes its just fun to see them having fun.
Saturday night I went out to the Brewhouse Caf to join a bunch of the SGATLiens guys for a boys night out. I got there first and while I was waiting I noticed a guy in the parking lot that could barely stand trying to get into a car for five straight minutes. I knew that couldnt lead to anything good so I grabbed a manager and told him about the guy. The manager talked to the guy a while. I looked later, the guy was gone but the car was still there. That was probably a good thing.
I was joined eventually joined by Reverend_HotRod, Donzell, Cereal_Killer, Wild_Zero, Hasselhoff, ChimericalMe, and ___k. It was a nice time, though a bit too cold to be sitting outside holding cold drinks comfortably. I had to be the first to bail on the evening thanks both to my shortage of funds and the early hour that Id have to be at work Sunday morning. I hate my schedule.
After work Sunday, wyspurr and I took the kids to Barnes & Noble for a while, with whorlwind tagging along. That was short and fun. I saw the new Mage: The Awakening. It looks snazzy, but frankly Im pretty content to stay stuck in my old school World of Darkness stuff since I already have around five or six dozen books at least for it.
Throughout the weekend Ive spent a good deal of time on the phone with Brenda. My trip to Tampa cant come soon enough. Talking to her is great, but theres only so much we can share from hundreds of miles apart. Im really excited about the prospect of going to Busch Gardens with her, maybe getting to see a bit of the USF campus, then spending the night together in a hotel room where we can snuggle and scrog the night away. Im sure therell be more too my visit, but thats the general gist what that weekend is going to look like.
