I'm in Ottawa and I'm really bored. I didn't expect the boredom so soon.
Everyone I know here is at school or work.
The fog is awesome though. And my sister's black cat looks nice sitting outside in it and the leaves.
I have realized that Ottawa is actually totally creepy looking most of the year except summer.

The just found some kid's body last night too. He had been missing for a month--he ran away from home because he parents took his Xbox away. It's sad.

Many germans can speak (some) english so you should be ok. I imagine it wouldn't be any worse than some parts of NYC....

or "One beer please" is "Ein Bier bitte."
or "Where is the closest train stop?" is "Wo ist die nchste Bahnstation?"
Also, the comment above mine is right. Most english native speakers that live here complain they don't learn german since everyone automatically switsches to english once they hear the accent. You'll probably do much better than you think.

That's funny, we always talk about how many wake-ups we have at work until hiatus. I never knew it was a prison reference (I still haven't watched Oz).
This trip is really going to break me..... Let's hope I still have money when I return. I'm feeling the economic crunch right about now since I really only have 3 days of work a week.
