Excellent weekend. Went to the bar and danced the night away (well, I tried. In the end the night won and I went to bed but it was a valiant struggle). Downside is that events conspired so I once again didn't get to the Edmonton Taboo show and (honestly, more disappointing for me) I once again missed D&D with the gang.

It is now mid...

Felt too good about life so applied for mortage pre-approval. Discovered it's a great way to quickly lose any impression that I'm "responsible" or " mature" or "worth consideration." On one hand with rent creeping up on 1300 for my place anyhow getting a different place makes sense but "compromise" isn't something I'm good at and I'm pretty sure I'll be forced to at least...

I knew that would be the general consensus. First I have to see if I am even eligible for the procedure

Another week down and now onto a weekend all alone. I really need to plan ahead so I have more going on when I have the house all to myself... make schemes grander than "play Shadowrun on Sunday" but unfortunately that's all I got.

Still... I'd rather do that than drive to a different province for a someone I've never met in my life's wedding....

How would you know about this wedding if you never knew them? I am going to assume the gf knows them. So, bad person, no. Bad boyfriend, maybe, but I will let your gf judge that one. Just saying.
jody:
The answer to your question is "No".

Apparently someone missed me? In any case, hello again.

And by someone, you mean the powers that be. They have given everyone that has been inactive for some period of time a free "get your ass back here" 3-months free pass.

Well, the powers that be might admire you and they are quite sexy... Just saying.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen:

As annoying as "goodbye" posts that sit awkwardly on a blog are, I'm afraid the time has come for me to deliver mine.

The site has been good to me. I've met a great many good people whom I otherwise would've likely never spoke with. The "AYBABTU" group remains one of my favorite things on the internet. Alas, however, I feel it...

I figured out what to get for a tattoo. Across the back of my right hand I will get, in big bold letters,

I WILL NOT START MY DAY OFF LISTENING TO "SOMETHING I CAN NEVER HAVE"

Apparently that is the only I'll learn. I would add "especially when it is your first day back after a 5 day vacation which has left you at...

That may not make the most visually pleasing tattoo, but it's good advice.

So. Summer (inasmuch as Edmonton recognizes it) is coming to a close. In order to squeeze a bit more fun out of my bike, I have decided to go on a road trip. Unfortunately, that means I now need to make "decisions" and "plans."

route 1-end up in Seattle. Not for PAX, It is sold out but even if it wasn't I wasn't planning to...

So I passed the test! Despite the day being rainy and ugly I managed to pass my class 6 exam and so ended up having one of the better Fridays I've had this summer. Drove my car to Innisfail to grab the bike and then, over the weekend drove to Buck Lake, Sylvan Lake and back to Edmonton. It is amazing how much easier everything...

So. Few weeks later and hopefully the business will quiet down a bit. I passed another Microsoft Certification Exam and that makes me happy (one closer to getting letters after my name other than B.Sc... which doesn't really bring the ladies).

More importantly though... I've now logged a decent few hours of motorcycle riding. It has been a humbling experience, let me tell you. Having...

You'll be good at driving standard soon enough! It just takes time, then you'll have to try something else like .......knitting? to keep humble.

Since I posted:

Bought a motorbike. It is a delight, I think. I've been looking at Honda Shadows since I was 16 (used to drive by a dealership every week on my way to bass lessons) so finally owning one is a bit of a trip. Also, I have a leather jacket which is something I've always wanted but given my portly computer geek nature...

So I finally committed and signed up for a motorcycle training course. I realize that isn't as edgy as just learning but it helps keep the parents from freaking out. Come the end of July, I will have my license.

The problem is, this means that I'm looking for bikes now. Specifically something in the feel of a Honda Shadow Sabre or Aero. Because I'm...

I had one of those dreams again. Wish fulfillment bullshit... when your brain is all "I know you want this so I'll give it to you in a dream and we'll be friends forever, right?"

My brain is stupid sometimes. It turns out starting a day with NiN as the sound track, let alone "Something I can Never Have," isn't a great way to start...

Ah well, if you find it stressful that is fair enough. Though I disagree that you are grumpy or old. Hope to see you at karaoke (somewhere lol) over the summer!

It was quite unintentional. I'm working tonight, Saturday night and Sunday night. It's going to be a weekend lacking in fun and sleep.
