6 days since my last post. This is one of the reasons I feel a need to leave SG. Used to be there was no way I'd go 2 days without one.

I had a good time at the party last night, but ended up kinda melancholy afterward, and this morning. I know I'm insecure, but I also know there's some folks who don't like...

It's pretty dull, I have to say. It's supposed to be an Annie forum, but I haven't heard any new Annie news in forever, so the only activity is in the "chewing for fun" section. And the only other person posting besides me is Redbeard3.

I got the Kinder Eggs by the way!! biggrin biggrin Thank you! smile The toys in these ones were pretty weird. There's a Mexican guy playing a little guitar thing, a snail with a soft head that moves its tongue when you roll it around, another magnetic soccer-playing toy (I have one of those from a past egg!), and an angry musical note that shakes its fists when you push its head down.

This is a poem idea I've had for a long time. I get stupid, crass verse ideas, and then I think about wordplay around them, and then all of the sudden one day I think of 3 or 4 dumb puns or rhyme schemes and then sit down and think of a few more and throw in some odd things, like the name of some...

Sucks to see you leaving the site... mainly because I hate MS, but I'm sure we'll stay in contact either way.

I'm thinking very hard about not re-upping membership at the end of the month.

If not for "forever," then at least to take a break and see.... what happens. It'll be four years on January 1st. That's a long time, even if I was totally thrilled about the direction of the site.

I am not.

So... I dunno. You can always catch me on MySpazz...

I ended up being fairly lazy yesterday. It's pretty easy for me to blow off actually going to shows when I can just veg out at philippetheotter's place. After a little wine. Boxed wine.

He helped me figure the iPod thing a bit. I loaded a bunch of music from his PC onto it. So I can play it here, on my compy. That's...

I dunno. The TRIBUTE thing has become daunting to me. I mean, aside from time restrictions (work, volunteer work, errands, basic chores, socializing, movie-watching, sleep, about 36000 mix CDs and burnt-library-CDs yet to make), I dunno who is actually gonna see all of them. I wanted to tribute everybody, but seriously there's some folks on my list I just -do- -not- -know- much about (like...

Did Sting do a James Bond skit on that SNL? I seem to remember a bit about it.

Yeah, uncomfortable furniture would certainly do that!

TRIBUTE

brokenbeatnik- I guess my second-night-ever in Portland, a year ago, was at beatnik's pad party, and I could tell right away this was a funn, smart, cool guy. This has only been reinforced at his recent visit in town, and his great birthday where we had awesome eats at two bars all afternoon and evening, and Devil's Point Stripperoake. This is one of...

So I worked Thurs- which was fine, as the football games were real shit. After weeks of telling people the Lions had improved, I find out Kevin Jones didn't play. Was he worth 17 points alone? Probably. No, seriously, probably, at least in terms of keeping the Dolphins off the field.
I didn't do sudoku, but rather chatted with my coworker and listened to some...

Hey love. I will indeed give you a list of weasel desperation goodies tonight.

In the meantime, yes, the Yaps are famous for the currency. And also the yellow/golden hammerhead migrations, and manta migrations apparently. Whee!

Okay, I'm not going to be sitting around on here tomorrow, since I have to work, it turns out. My supervisor had to go to the hospital for some respiratory thing, so I will fill in for him tomorrow.

I was going to try and write a Blog here tomorrow for every person on my Friends list, what I like about all of you all,...

Wednesday - I saw a couple of films with yetimike. Musical Brotherhoods from the Trans-Saharan Highway had a lot of footage of street musicians at night fairs in Morocco. Some great stuff, on banjos and other stringed instruments with battery amplification and lots of drummers on hand-drums, bongos, n such. Very lively stuff, much fun. Sumatran Folk Cinema was more varied, about the music...

Thanks to brokenbeatnik and GregWeed (not to mention the usual phillipetheotter going-on) for great old times this weekend. Biggest Friday partey evar, me finally hitting a bad karaoke match-up Saturday (it wasn't hard for me to finally find myself out of my range), and the medium-sized bash with the big-sized Mediterranean cookery at the Weed/dovienya place (with the mystery entrance ways).

Yeah, so I did...

I'm 10th from the bottom in seniority and 20 people hit the layoff list. It's a fairly small layoff. A "slowdown in the industry" could just be the fact that it's a short week in the U.S. next week due to Thanksgiving. I may just be off one week, i may be off for a month. Or "slowdown in the industry" could just be a bullshit line they use anytime there's a layoff for whatever reason. I'm not really sure, I've only been there since August. It can't be a matter of which car-maker though. We make parts for Chrysler, GM, Ford and a bunch of Japanese companies. Basically we supply almost every major car company and sell these parts exclusively across Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Business seemed to be booming which makes me think any real slowdown other than the holiday is bullshit.

I saw some pretty great headlines on Yahoo News lately. One was "Barbados Faces Invasion by Giant Snails." I think they meant, say, 10 to 12 inch snails hurting crops, but obviously 200 foot ones would be neater. Then I saw "Piracy Fines to Increase in Vietnam." Turns out they don't mean Captain Kidd or Blackbeard, but rather software copiers. In a side note, the...
