I lived through the mountain of hippies I had to endure this weekend at the High Sierra music festival. The locale was good, the peeps I was there with were nice, but the general music the place puts forward just sucks. I do not, for the life of me, understand the appeal of the "jam band." The endless noodle holds no interest for me what-so-ever. Regardless of one's musical virtuosity, if it's got the emotional weight of a kitty cat turd, who cares. I'd rather listen to a single passionate note all day long.
Luckily, I did see a few decent bands and overall had a nice time.
Sadly, I did depart being sickly and that slowed me down quite a bit. I'm in the non-contageous/congested side of things now and am surrounded by tissue. My poor nose is not happy, but aloa is my friend.
I have a friend of a friend who's doing some landscaping at my home and I've gotten rid of these horrible Dr. Suess-gone-wrong shrubs out front and have replaced them with 2 weeping japanese maples instead. Much better. He also planted a dogwood in the backyard and is getting the rest of the plants today for the back. Very cool.
Now I must practice drums and disturb the birds that have taken up residence in my chimney.
