Greetings from Swanton, Vermont. Yesterday, I packed up my belonging, Lilith the cat, and cast off all moorings to start a new life 10 minutes south of the Canadian border. People tell me I'm crazy, but I've always wanted to live up here, and I finally did it.

I have a guest room, and it will be ready for use in short order, so if...

I made an appointment to have my two 9 year old cats get their annual checkup and shots today. Routine, as they have been eating, playing, seeking the usual amount of affection, and pretty much acting like themselves.

Lilith gets her checkup and treatment, and is fine except for needing her teeth cleaned. No problem we'll schedule it for next week.

Lola gets weighed and...

:( I'm so sorry. How bizarre that it happened on the exam table! That's horrible. Poor kitty. Hang in there, I know how terrible it feels when a being you love passes. *hugs* I'm glad that you were there to hold her in her final moments.

We lost a 3 year old cat last year without warning. She passed en route from vet to hospital. Nothing could have prepared us for this sudden loss. My sympathies are with you. May you find peace in her memory on this imperfect earth.

My mom dies. Three months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It's been the shittiest 3 months of my life. At least she's not in pain any more. And the bad pain lasted only about a week.

I am so incredibly sorry. My aunt passed away shortly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer as well. Hang in there. Big hugs!

My sincere condolences. I lost my dad in 2007. Time will help, but not ease all of it. However, I'm glad you noted she's no longer in pain. I took comfort in that for my dad as well. Also, cling to the happy memories you have of her, for those will NEVER die.

I've had the good fortune to become Vice President of Recruitment and Social Media for Fantasy Sports Warehouse, a rapidly growing site in Sports coverage (Exploded 40% in the past 3 months after coming into existence in December 2014). Thanks to the beautiful and talented @kiley I am able to share the opportunity to join our family of writers with my SG family.

Although...

It's been freezing cold in New Jersey, as with most of the country, and I often crawl into bed at night to watch TV. It always warms my heart when one or both of my cats come up and get under the covers with me. Even though I know that I am likely viewed as a heated pillow in their world, I'm glad I am...

I miss my cat :(  I know I wasn't just his heated pillow...I was also his food procurer and litter box emptier. He did sit on the rim of the tub when I took baths though. Hector was a goddamn saint. RIP, buddy.

Hope it's an amazing year. It's going to be the year I rebuild my life from the ashes. Can't function like this anymore.

@iggy Career change is not working out the way I hoped. Heart broken. It's just just been a rotten run.

Got an e-mail with a discount offer to renew my membership. Early Christmas gift to myself - boobies. I went to the Blackheart Burlesque show in Asbury Park earlier this month and started thinking about the friends on the site I'd lost touch with. Giving the new format another try.

So, what have I missed?

iggy:
So glad you're back!!

Yesterday was an amazing day. I spent it hanging with SG royalty @machete and her family. They live on a beautiful farm in a rural area. Once I actually found their place, which I dubbed "CIA headquarters" because it was so hard to find, I finally got to know her husband and meet the best behaved baby I've ever been around. And her little girl...

Not sure if my earlier blog posted... I logged on to find my account is still active. Rolling with it until the universe tell me otherwise.

Today's question is, is it possible to love someone you've never met in person? I've talked to her via Skype. Extensively on the phone. Text all the time. Email. This goes on every day, all hours of the day...

I fell in love with my ex in London without meeting him in person first. We met here on SG and spoke on the phone, through e mail, and IM. Those were the days before Skype, so we never got a chance to do that. So yes, it is entirely possible to love someone who never met in person.

My account's still active. Didn't expect to find that. But, as with life, I'll roll with it. Until circumstances dictate differently.
