It's been over a month since I logged on, wow. I guess this year is flying by. In the last month I've traveled to Seattle and San Diego; celebrated about 100 birthdays (give or take) and have been burning the candle at both ends. I've missed the last two days of work with a shitty cold, which I'm hoping will end soon!

Hope you are...

And now we come to the winter of my discontent, well, I will soon be in that shape. I'm getting my tonsils out tomorrow afternoon. I figure a couple weeks of serious pain will make up for the lost time I have spent over the last few years with strep throat. As a bonus, any lucky peeps sleeping with me will no longer have to...

No, we haven't gotten into that show yet. We probably will though, as everyone I know loves it.

I just got back home from a lunch date. It was an interesting one, but I'm not smitten or anything. We actually met through an application on my iPhone. The Man Machine love technology.

I have no plans for a Friday night. I got paid today, so I feel like doing something, but I'm also broke again because of stupid rent and bills. (curses!)

I...

Merry Christmas everyone. I was in a foul, melancholy mood yesterday, but I snapped out of it.

So far my day has consisted of watching Prince Caspian and lots of hoops. I have had plenty of coffee and got the chains off the car. (more of a workout than putting them on) I'm about to wander out to SE PDX to see some peeps and...

oh wait, it's not that kind of boxing. My lady is trying to get some traditional crackers (for the uninitiated, kind of like party favors with presents and a crown inside) so we can do the day like she did back home.

OMG!!!11 hai! i loved you in full metal jacket!

Drink: Heineken

Dinner: roast beef, green beans and some kick ass mashed potato!

Mood: snowed in and enjoying the Minnesota like week we've had in the PDX.

My friends are safe, I'm warm, it's all good. I may not be going anywhere for Xmas if this keeps up. I won't be the only one in that boat, so we'll make the most of it I...

brokenbeatnik:
Yeah, don't drink and post, right? *shudder*

Yeah it's snow-mad out there man, I am glad you all are doing well though. I am well also; was expecting a big night Friday, got a pretty good one but while I was waiting, I had a few too many. Good times nonetheless though. I'm cutting back though, because since I started doing promotion for Transmission X (my new music crew I'm in with a couple of guys) I've been out and drinking more, not getting tossed, but just getting fat from all the beer. Can't have that.

Yeah, just wear an old school suit, definitely a hat, and carry a lighter and a pack of smokes. And get Lans to dress up as whatever Christina Hendricks is wearing love. What? I didn't say anything, what are you talking about? smile

Have a great Christmas if I don't talk to you before then.

Yes, I am back. One of the coolest peeps I know gifted me an account. I don't know how much I'll be on here, but it will be interesting to see what changes have been made in the last few years. Hopefully I'll be catching up with some old peeps and meeting new ones. Drop me a line and I will try and figure out...

True, it didn't look good last night and I was really, really bummed by the way that things went down. Then again, you can't expect things to gel as quickly. Especially w/ this group. It'll take time but I expect it to pay off.
brokenbeatnik:
What up?!? Welcome back. . . looks like we're getting the band back together one account at a time.

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

My last post on SG. Where to start? What to write? I joined this site for some very painful reasons. I can point fingers, I can lay blame and maybe even accept some blame for why I had to catch my former spouse cheating on me and bragging about it on SG. So, I guess you...

Mood: Hungover, but with a bright gleam in my eyes.

Drink: too many Tanqueray + tonics last night, currently Earl Grey tea.

Music: working on a mix, currently on Steely Dan "Sign in Stranger." (walk around collecting Turkish union dues)

Plans: drink more tea, watch some TV, maybe check out the new Christopher Guest joint. College ball tomorrow, then a bachelor party. Sunday some more...

Video I took of the last play yesterday. USC needed the 2 point conversion to tie OSU as time expired. The ball was deflected and OSU hung on to win 33-31. It really wasn't that close. It was one of the best games I have been to and broke USC's record of 38 games in a row during the regular season. They hadn't lost a...

This song is tear inducing, beautiful and fits my mood:

Pray God you can cope.
I stand outside this woman's work,
This woman's world.
Ooh, it's hard on the man,
Now his part is over.
Now starts the craft of the father.

I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have...

Don't know the song... easily foundoutable, I suppose.

Andy Summers at Powell's on Tuesday.
brokenbeatnik:
You know, I bought an Andy Summers album, Invisible Threads, that I hated when I bought it. But I was in high school, so I may not have been ready given where I was musically. I was very George Howard and Dave Grusin and Najee and Chick Corea Elektric Band in those days. It's funny, as I get older my music gets more edgy and intense. I'm feeling very Stones Throw and Bugz in the Attic and broken beats these days.

I knew this was a Kate Bush song (right?) but the one that sticks with me and that I've heard way more is the Maxwell one. He actually really does a good job now that I can compare the two.

Much merriment last night, First Thursday in the PDX and all. Went with some peeps to Solo on NW Lovejoy and then to the Marathon Taverna on W Burnside. Ended up at Chopsticks over on E Burnside. Donger hungry, needed food!
The crowd at Chopsticks was sparse, being a Thursday night. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to break out this gem:

Harmlessly passing...

I saw the game on TV, actually, and mentioned it to Mikael, you and the whole Boise State debacle and how "it looks like there ahead in this one, though" (vs. Idaho).

On the radio today, Canzano was saying half the Idaho team is like 5'6".
