I think it's been 3 months, don't know if I'll magically go grey again today or soon... if that happens, you guys know where to find me! (If not, ask) I'll still be trying to show up for stuff, regardless of my lack of presence on here. smile

Be warned, this is a rather depressing and very long journal about my cat.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

This has been a very strange couple of weeks. Brief into: I had two cats, Boy and Girl, both 13+ years old. Together since they were just months old. Girl developed asthma this summer, sort of out of nowhere.
Some time around xmas, Girl turned into an...

The old SG parties have been coming up in conversation quite a bit recently. I'm hard-pressed to explain the transition that's happened over the years... for one, the star attraction at parties these days is less apt to be out-of-control, barely-legal strippers, but a growling baby or a humpy rabbit. I think this changes the tone somewhat. Can't be sure of that, but I think...

dynamic systems!! dig it!

someone should have video taped the humpy rabbit. maybe i will next time i'm there. wink
miloryan:
Yes yes, I long for those old parties where nakedness and much making out was the norm. However it would feel out of place to partake in such debauchery these days. A nice make-out or game of spin the bottle would still be nice.
Anyway, you should go to the Sunday brunch at Crush this weekend! Would love to see you there! We could play spin the bottle and make-out!

So, what's fun to do around here these days?

Yes. We had a little girl in January. Her name is Ramona. Still not married but maybe this summer.

I'm not sure what the deal is but 3 months free is 3 months of fun. I don't know that Monica would want me on here because she thinks it's porn and naked women. I really liked the group we had before. It was always great to meet up with all of you guys.

Ha! That's a trick question right? RIGHT?

I've forgotten what it was like to have a blog where I didn't have to moderate what I say, because work-friends are reading...

The last couple weeks have really been fantastic. It first started with a friend from Tacoma staying over the weekend, joining me for tattooing and partying, and then some fantastic sock-shopping. I so love watching people explode over being introduced to something...

I hope all this account reinstating leads to at least one SG party like we had back in the good old days.

Well, it's been quite a few months and I'm still un-tempted to use my account here. It's just way too much of a pain in the ass to navigate anymore. So I'm off to the other many Web 2.0 applications with minimal naked girl action.

Ah well, it was good while it lasted.

Just so I don't unduly freak anyone out, a little forewarning: I'm gonna go anon in a week or so, till the end of my subscription. I'll still check in on y'all and you know how you can get hold of me if you wanna chat. Plus I'm in the Borg Collective just like everyone else, so feel free to catch me there.

Happy last 30 minutes of your birthday! Missed you at brunch today, but I imagine you had birthday-related things to do. If you're even in town, that is. wink

Highlights from this week:
Got to CA, drove an hour to where my Grandparents live, hung out with them for a night.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
They spend most of the time trying to get me to pick which things I want to inherit from them, as Grandma will likely not be around by xmas. Also, point out that this is the most time they've...

OK. You, me, and E. Love. Vegas. September.
I got it, it's your birthdays.

(The musical of course. What were you thinking? *pshaw* nasty mind wink )

According to the above thing:
"Alyssum likes being where she am."

Now I just have this image of an integral rearing up in the woods and swinging signs around like deer legs in the When Animals Attack commercials.

I'm digging on Twitter right now, it's nice to get little amusing snippets from people throughout the day. Makes me feel like I'm in touch with people despite my being an anti-social hermit...

Are you using Twitteriffic with it? It's pretty slick. (my username is gb on twitter, btw)

And I've come to grips with my hermit-crabism.

Alright, evidentally I can't edit my last post.

Thanks to everyone for their concern. And thank goodness for the boy. I called up this morning after about 6 hours of crying in bed, he came over and cheered me up and watched a movie with me. At that point I was actually able to call and talk to her for a little bit, and even...

Damn, that must be just the perfect clusterfuck storm of helpless feelings. You are worried about the people you love with the inescapable fear for yourself. I'll skip all the pointless keep-your-chin-up shit and just say I'll be hoping for the best for you and yours.

Well, turns out my mom's tumor is cancerous too. It's all just a huge waste of time. Finances, making myself a better person, trying to improve my body, huge waste of time. My body is a toxic time bomb and my only hope is to be a food nazi and go to the doctor and get poked and prodded until it's...

You are at least armed with the foreknowledge that it may come some day. Having your finances, health, and life straightened out will make dealing with it much easier if it comes to that. There's a lot to enjoy between now and when or IF it becomes an issue. Yeah, being positive will help, too. {hug}
babyblue:
I agree with catdad. And, although I don't consider myself overly hippie, despite my upbringing, I firmly believe in the mind-body connection. Try to stay positive about the situation, because getting dragged down only makes everything worse.

Yuck, such trite advice. I'm sorry. We need to hang out soon!

Long, bit-of-a-downer content

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

My 80-something-year-old grandma was recently diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. This is notable for a few reasons, mostly because she hasn't had ovaries since the 60s. In discussing this with family members, it turns out a great aunt was also diagnosed with this when she was 100. My mom is understandably concerned about what this means for her,...

Better safe than sorry. I would get tested for my own knowledge. It's the same reason we have annuals....because if it wasn't caught, then we get in trouble. The ladies that die of cervical cancer are the ones that don't get annuals. Sorry to hear all of this.

Yoga, you should come down.
miloryan:
Ouch! But I tell ya, if I make to 100 with out any major issues, I would just be so stoked to make it that far. But yeah get checked. Then come over and make out with me. We have not done that in a while.
