About three months ago, we discovered toxic black mold underneath our kitchen sink. Two weeks after that, Anne and I packed up some bags and moved ourselves and our dogs out of our house, while a team of hazardous materials removal dudes tore apart our kitchen and made our house look like Breaking Bad.

A month after we moved out, we were able to come...

Sounds a lot like my summer. We woke up one morning to discover the carpet in our living room was soaked through, only there were no pipes beneath the floor there and leaks from the ceiling above. Turns out our chimney cap had rusted through and water was leaking down the inside of the wall and coming out beneath the fireplace. We had to have the carpet torn up and replaced, punched holes in the wall to see if there was any mold (thankfully there wasn’t). It was shitty, but I’m grateful everything worked out, we’re safe and sound, the house is OK, and now we have beautiful wood laminate flooring. Unfortunately, my novel still isn’t finished, but I’m almost there!

Looking forward to reading your new book, sir! Especially if it involves slasher horror! Will you be narrating Scalzi’s upcoming THE CONSUMING FIRE? I loved your reading of THE COLLAPSING EMPIRE, so you better be back for book two! 😁

Ryan was 19, and was home between semesters of college. He’d had a real difficult year while he was adjusting to school and being away from home, and his mom and I were doing everything we could to support him while he went through a challenging growth phase.

I had just bought this laser star projector from Think Geek, and I wanted to show him...

I love Eurotrash dance remixes, and I love 70s pop music. This YouTube channel combines those things in the very best way.

840 words (70782 total) on the rewrite of All We Ever Wanted Was Everything.
And that is a completed first rewrite. I thought for sure I would have to do massive rewriting in the last 10K words, because I wrote them all in a single day, but they really (surprisingly) hold up!
I’m going to send my manuscript to a few close, trusted friends for...

This is a reprint and expansion of today’s word count entry on my tumblr thing.
I had panic attacks all night long, last night. Each time I fell asleep, I woke up what felt like minutes later, in absolute terror. Like, imagine that you’re on an airplane and everything seems fine, and then it suddenly drops like 1000 feet. You know how you think you’d...

Sorry, that sucks. No similar experience, can't offer any practical advice, but hope you get some relief soon.

I've been having the same issues for about a year now.  Had to leave work because of them.  If you figure out how to make them go away, let me know.

The blog post that became a short story that became a novella that is almost a novel was an intense writing experience today. I had to write a scene that I’ve been dreading, that I know will have to be rewritten at least once, to get the tone and emotional punch exactly right.

This was an emotionally exhausting day, the most intense one I’ve had...

Imposter indeed. Your writing that I've seen has a magical, compelling quality that's very special, to say the least, and that YouTube piece about Shatner having been less than gracious is a masterpiece of wit, timing and nuance. I could go on but my conclusion is that you're the real deal, someone genuinely to be looked up to and be inspired by. Remember that I have no reason to dish out fabricated praise just to "be nice." For all anyone knows, being nice might be something I endure with great reluctance and only when the occasion absolutely demands it.
