Sorry to hear you're going to have to deal with the arthritis. My grandmother used to swear spraying WD40 on her hands helped her arthritis (seriously. We used to laugh about it.) My brother is a chemical engineer and knows his chemistry, obviously. He said there was an ingredient in WD40 that really did help, but it isn't in WD40 these days.
Hopefully, you'll find something that helps your pain that isn't necessarily in the hardware section at Walmart.
