I feel like I should be writing, so despite the fact that I've not gotten the pictures developed yet (still have one last frame) I'm posting again.

A friend of mine recently organised something called the Joy Luck Club, loosely based on the idea from the book of the same name by Amy Tan. Each week we meet up and one of us cooks dinner...

So, as you may recall, I went on a cruise last week with Barenaked Ladies and many other bands, including Guster. I figured I'd post about it.

First off, though, I should relate that I got my car into an argument with a barrier the day before I left. I'm okay, but you can read the lengthy story about it if you like.

I'm going to be mailing something to you today. biggrin

I wish I had known that you were in Calgary yesterday! I was just sitting around my house.
I'll have to send you my phone number.

As for coming to visit... I'm not sure. I'll have to find a convenient time for people in Edmonton. I could probably come down for more than a day if I had a place to stay.
When should I come visit? Anything fun coming up?

Right now I have a list of stuff I should be doing, but the first thing I need to do chronologically is shower (actually, it may also be the first in terms of importance too. I'm all icky) and 2 of my uncles are upstairs on my parents' deck fixing something and taking the ladder they left behind when they built said deck, so I'm...

Clearly. 'Cause I don't see myself being able to leave Calgary on a Wednesday until, like, April. Except that week I'm in the Carribean, which frankly only makes it harder to get to Edmonton and back.

Also, you lot should totally pop down here in late March and catch Three Musketeers. Between myself, Michele, AC and whatnot I bet we can house as many of the Edmonton crowd as can be convinced to come. Also, after the Khristmas Kabaret night Team Scorpio owes Team Edmonton a kick-ass house party.
jody:
What shall we see on Broadway? I've heard that Avenue Q and The Drowsy Chaperone are excellent. We should buy pretzels from a street vendor and spin around in Times Square like you'd see in the movies. biggrin
I have labcoats! I just need to remember them for next time...
A fountain made with some sort of red carbonated beverage would be fantastic also.

so, I just downloaded the torrent of a group named emocapella's first album...

I'll come back when I've stopped laughing. and pouting over the terrible quality. and debating ordering the physical cd and the second album.

heh.

okay, I'm back. and now I'll write a real (though short) post while waiting for my laundry to dry so I can get myself all ready...

Well I'm going to be burning copies of Scrubs for myself so I can watch them. They'll be around. tongue

Things have been pretty good this week. But I'm looking forward to seeing people again. Sitting around my parents' basement is only appealing for so long.

And Smuffy predicted romantic stuff in my future so I'm anxious to see if she's right. biggrin

ARRR!!!

For the record, dave and I were AWESOME on Tim's and booze!! The Balderdash silliness was started on the second word, not the first.

And fadge was (as far as I can recall): "like a twat... only with more fffffffff"

I'm TOTALLY taking credit for "chortling cockbag". Only a day into the year and I've already conquered it. Fuck yeah.

So, I'm pausing long enough in my writing of an assignment that I'm feeling incredibly stuck on (no time to do a big thing before 4:30, nothing worth writing that can be written in 3.5 hours) to go have lunch and hope that inspiration will strike.

Also, to post this.

Things I want to do over my Christmas break!
- Sleep. A lot.
- Read...

Good for you. It's a nice feeling - accomplishment. I wish I knew it better.... I just tried to pooper-scoop my very frozen yard. It didn't work. And that was the *only* thing I absolutely had to do today, and I failed, miserably.

Gack. Stupid having to start the post over. Stupid computers at school.

So, I realise it's been like a month since I last posted, and I blame that on the fact that it's been an insanely stressful, busy, hectic month. And really, this post isn't going to have any wonderful content telling you about the reasons for that, as I have one last (overdue) assignment...

The best thing to do then is to download all 11 new episodes using all your illegal pirating software and catch up before they start up again in Febuary.

It's been a really long time since I've spent hours randomly driving around, exploring and talking. I forgot how much awesomeness it can be. Plus, climbing schools reminds me how much of a girly girl I am. Next time must be something manly I can do, rather than get halfway up and chicken out.

In recent news, my circadian rhythm is finally starting to work...

So, mr_dave and I had a bit of an adventure last night, which, since it is really his story, he may or may not give more details on. I will leave it at these two points: 1. after me prodding him for a week, last night we finally went to the ER to see a doctor, 2. he's absolutely fine.

In the ER, we exchanged...

The ER totally counts as a date doesn't it?

I swear that if my first date with a girl ever ends in the ER I will probably marry her right then and there.

Reasons I love my mom #16,375: she sometimes says things that make me completely rethink my belief system.

Yesterday when were randomly talking she brought up the fact that the whole "turn the other cheek" thing is very much a New Testament concept, and that that's part of the reason things are so screwy in the Middle East. Judaism and Islam are very "eye for...

mr_dave gets home tomorrow from Peace River! Hurray! Usually when we're apart for days at a time it's because I've buggered off somewhere, not the other way around.

I had a pretty awesome weekend, despite my complete inability to extricate myself from social situations when I know I should be doing useful things like studying. Fortunately, my three midterms this week are on Thursday and...

Tonight's the first night I've been home since Thursday. I probably should've gotten useful stuff done this weekend but that clearly wasn't in the cards for me.

I've been either watching or playing Guitar Hero far far too much this weekend. I have two of the songs stuck in my head. So I'm going to take a page out of freakpirate's book and quote...
