I recently claimed that the things I had to do were legion, and the things I want to do are mostly impossible.

But that's not strictly speaking true, is it? Many things turn out to be possible. I wanted to celebrate my birthday in Vegas, and 17 people were willing to do it with me. I wanted to go to skydiving, and along with...

These are the things I have to do.

Coming up soon is the award show for Calgary's non-professional theatre companies. I have several responsibilities here: I need to write the award script (not as hard as it sounds), coordinate three live performances, and shoot three video spots. On top of that, I have to plan a dinner for the people from my theatre group...

Is there some sort of planning for the Awards thing that I have not been seen?

I have not been invited.

Update on the phone calls.

A friend and I tried calling the toll-free numbers that have been haunting me as of late. The first one, the one that's been showing up more recently, was indeed the Bank of Montreal. So, that's awesome. But I believe my ex-wife has made the student loan payment, so that should shut them up for a while.

Now...

My new march resolution is to phone you randomly from Calgary-and-area phone booths.

BOM can be real assholes sometimes don't you find?? I was going to do my student loans through them but after my nightmare ordeals with simple banking I decided against it.....boy and I relieved I did noweeek

Hope all is well in cowtownbiggrin

So I keep getting brief calls from toll-free numbers, numbers preceded by 801 or 888. So brief I've yet to be able to answer them in time, and they've never made it to voicemail.

I know what I want these calls to be... I want them to be The Girl, calling me from a payphone, finally ready to talk after 6 months. Hanging...

So I've had this bottle of 12-year-old Glenlivet scotch for over 6 years. Masquerade got it for me for my birthday back in ought-one, and I've been saving it for a "special occasion." I've had a few special occasions since then, but they never felt quite triumphant enough. Except possibly the Heracles tour, but I was nowhere near it at the time...

yay scotch. Next time invite me tongue.

I watched Fellowship a few weeks ago... I'm going to watch Two Towers again but that movie requires a special mood... highly alert but focused. Anything else just bombs because that movie craws in a manner that puts fellowship to shame. If I ever make a movie you can be certain it won't contain any elves, ents or forests.

That's all I'm saying.
masquerade:
Damn it, Dan, that's not cutting back!

And, since you left it the bottle for six more years, that scotch was old enough to order its own scotch.

Yesterday was a special occasion I call "2000 Days Since I Last Said 'I Love You.'" I separated from my ex on July 1st, 2002, and have thus been single for the last 2000 days. 2000 straight days of being afraid to admit an attraction to someone for fear of how wrong it could go. 51 straight nights sleeping alone.

Yeah, there was an incident...

And the fleeing from the concert because we hate that bar led to much less of my participation. I'm glad you're not wigging out so much this time, though.
masquerade:
Right, yes. Originally you had been going to move the "celebration" to the Friday (or at least so you said during the part of the garglebalaster night that you don't remember). The actual night was a Thursday. I would only have been able to watch you drink because I am NOT going to work hung over again. The morning after Party-Like-It's-Monday was quite enough, thank you.

I'm sorry I don't update often. I blame the Facebook, with its wiles and its applications and being far more acceptable to be caught checking at work.

Most of my day-to-day friends are there as well, as are a lot of my friends 'round these parts. So it has begun to absorb the bulk of my blogging requirements. If I want to announce...

Can you believe I left an emo rant up as my blog for over three weeks? I can't. Who DOES that? Begone, I say.

So. 31 now. I could still take or leave this "being over thirty" thing, but since leave isn't actually an option... The party was held 6 days after my actual birthday, a theme bash titled "Hank Scorpio's Espionage...

My apologies if you already read this elsewhere.

Had another one of those dreams lately. You know the ones... no, wait, you don't. That could mean anything.

Every now and then I have a dream that... inspires me in some way. Some aspect of the dream, some event or emotional reaction sticks with me the next day, such that I have to try and...

The problem is not that I don't often feel like talking about things, the problem is that I'm so busy trying to suppress the urge to do so that I neglect this "blogging" thing. That and it's so rare these days that anything happens worth speaking of. Here's my latest batch of thoughts, imported from Facebook but once again with exclusive...

Okay, seriously. Aaron is not plotting your downfall. He finds it funny that you're still worrying about it, but that's it. It's all okay.

Danny G's week in review.

I started the week tired from staying out stupidly late for karaoke, and I've remained tired for most of the week. Were I physically or psychologically capable of going to sleep at 10, maybe this could have been corrected. But here we are.

This was a week of mild socialization. Chinese food and the perpetual argument with AC...

I don't like not knowing what to do.

I'm not talking about not knowing what to do for dinner, although I'm not overly fond of that either as it tends to result in fast food more often than not. No, what I mean is I don't like being faced with a problem I don't know how to fix.

Now, I...
