Longtime (obsessive?) readers (and magpieboy) may recall that I am like a woman forty years my senior in my inordinate fondness for songbirds, to the point when people ask how my day went, I have a tendency to talk about how excited I am that a new species has arrived at my feeders. I still enjoy going out dancing downtown or sitting around...

That's a fantastic "about me".

If you're small and on a search, I've got a feeder for you to perch on...

Dude, I know your evil twin lives in Dallas, but I just saw your doppelgnger tonight at Sassy's. She's a bit thicker than you but otherwise we're talking mirror image, it was kind of freaking me out. I wish I could've taken a picture.

Nice peaches, sugar.
Raised a glass to you at the prom, hope all is well in your hillside thickets.

The Louvins doing "Kneeling Drunkard's Plea" is the shite. That is all.
trevallion:
Holy shit, does that actually dance? I have to know where you got that. Please.
Man, since some of you guys thought that my last post was somehow kidding or that "Lip Gloss" isn't a delicious little song, I have to resort to putting a little last.fm thing in my top profile bar to eddikate you folks on good music.

You know, ever since I first heard this song, I've felt like not becoming a hip hop star while I was still in high school was the worst mistake of my life.

Just reread Cat's Cradle a couple of weeks ago. Holds up well. The displacement of the Cold War with more esoteric threats makes the Ice Nine image even more compelling. Networked suicide.
Have you read Cormac McCarthy's The Road? Oddly it's now the Oprah Book Club selection but don't let that discourage you.

you're more than welcome. i just worry there must be a real shortage on sensible when i'm the one getting applauded.
Last night Sugar Britches and I went to go see Electric Six; they were awesome and we danced our asses off (they mysteriously grew back during the night).
One of the guitarists had the old Madness slogan on a button on his guitar strap:
FUCK ART, LET'S DANCE
which encapsulates a lot of my personal belief system.
Anyway, they closed with this oldie but goodie,...

hey, i noticed in the lesser played instruments group you're learning to play accordion... i don't have any advice on any teach-yourself accordion programs, really, but in general the Mel Bay stuff is not bad.
anyways, i made a mix cd somewhat recently and i realized after the fact that about half of the songs feature accordions.. and i believe moniker42 uploaded the songs and posted it on his myspace a while back... if you hadn't already seen it, this
link should work.
good luck! it's a good instrument to start out on, i think.
