Months or preparation and it's over in 15 minutes. I am rehashing all my answers, wishing I threw in more points, wishing I hadn't rambled, wishing I had covered missed areas. I'm kind of kicking myself about not being as prepared as I should have been and possibly missing points because I didn't cover some valuable terrain (there were only 5...

Gahh! My interview is Thursday! I've spent /months/ preparing, but not even a minuscule amount of time practicing. I'll be fine; my practice interview went amazing. But I know I'm wasting the opportunity to polish answers by my lack of focused practice... Like surfing aimlessly instead of cracking down and studying! mad
renna:
Good luck with the interview, hun!

word yo. good luck on the interview tomorrow!

My firefighting physical ability test is this Friday. And the panel interview is next Thursday. I'm confident I'll do quite well, but nervous because it means so much! blackeyed

Work is going well. I'll be sad to leave Rocket whenever I start academy with firefighting.

I'm going to the Apple Festival this weekend. Should be awesome. Autumn has always been my favorite...

Still looking for a job... Thought I had some super promising prospects but they were kinda old Craigslist postings and they said they loved my resume but had already hired others. I'll keep on keepin' on. surreal

I'm a Portlander! love

After 2 days scrambling to pack literally all my belongings, and 3 long but quite pleasant days on the train, I have arrived in Portland. Wow am I glad to be here. I have no doubt this will be my home for decades to come. Now to get settled...!
erika:
Nice meeting you at brunch today, welcome to PDX smile

Back in the US! It was long tiring day, but I'm excited to be back. I went Nagoya > SF > Portland > Denver > Wichita. I dropped my luggage off in Portland and continued on to Wichita. I'm home now to pack for a couple days before taking Amtrak back out to Portland.

It has not hit me at all that my time in Japan is...

Hey there SG. Been awhile, huh? I check in every once in awhile but haven't been contributing for a long time.

Since my last blog I've rocked my new students (sad to be leaving), become an advance open water SCUBA diver in Malaysia, finished my 27th trip around the sun, experienced even more of Japan, become a ripped manbeast on CrossFit, manhandled a...

Back in pink. I need to clean up after my parents' stay though. I have a one room apartment, and it's a mess after three people living in it for 2 weeks with all their stuff in mid-winter.

Umm, something else interesting...? I weigh 83kg right now. That's 183lbs. I haven't weighed that little since my Freshmen year in HS. I peaked...

The parental units are still here. We had an whirlwind tour of Kansai (central Japan). They saw more in 4 days than many people see in 4 months! I haven't spent that much continuous time with my parents since middle school though. They were driving me crazy with their bickering! And my mom snores so I was even grumpier because of lack of sleep...
