@bloghomework I'm not really much for scented candles or incense or scentzy stuff, so I'm going to talk about smells. One of the biggest triggers for your memory is smell. Smells can instantly transport you back in time and call up tons of images. Some of my favorite smells would be a freshly cut lawn. It smells a lot like spring to me. A freshly dug potato with dirt still on it. This used to be potato country up here, and harvest time saw all the students from school picking potatoes in the fields. We got an extra 3 week break from school for it. That earthy smell always brings it back. Freshly brewed coffee. I don't even like brewed coffee (instant for me), but I love the smell. I dislike cigarettes and tobacco in general, but I like the smell of a pipe. My Uncle used to smoke one in my childhood, and it always reminds me of him. The smell of outside, just before it rains. You can tell it's just about to hit. And just after it rains. Again, it smells like spring. The smell of gasoline. It reminds me of ski-doo trips we took when I was a kid. I hate the cold, but roasting hotdogs over the fire is always a great memory. Bacon frying. No explanation is needed. The smell of a musty old book. I've always loved old things. Lastly, I'll have to agree with @dmaggot here, and go with women. Women just smell nice. If you've ever been to a dorm a few months into the semester, you can tell whether you're on a girls floor or a guys floor, just by opening the floor door. And gunpowder! I forgot gunpowder! Caps, fireworks, guns, love that smell!

Great homework blog. I know what you mean about the smell of pipe tobacco. My dad smoked a pipe when I was a kid. I have found some cigars that remind me of that - Backwoods were the best - to the point I used to buy them and smoke one or two a week in the summers in my early 30s. And I had never been a smoker before we got some samples at work and I fell in love with that sweet tobacco smell. Thankfully, I didn't like the expense or smell of the smoke and stopped after a couple of years. I also love the smell of freshly brewed, strong coffee.

Hehehe, your last sentence. So true. Guys' dorms smell...manly. // I too love the odor of old books. <3
