Given that nothing of importance has happened to me here's a review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It's all spoilered because I don't want ruin anything.

Hype wins again, and sadly I'm suckered in again. I finished the campaign a few hours ago and can't help but feel I've been cheated. I'd read about great set pieces and that although none of it makes sense the it was a blast to play. Really?
It's seems crazy to criticise a game for not having a compelling story, and even more so if its a shooter. MW2 doesn't even have a clear narrative though, or even a clear bad guy. It's just 17 levels of killing people because they have to be killed. It's all very cold and detached. I'm not about launch into a moralistic rant here but shouldn't I be given some reason for endless slaughter? Or is that the point? Have Infinity Ward created a video game with a philosphical point that the murder of people by the either the military or terrorists is the same thing?
Well no of course they fucking haven't. They've made some new maps for Modern Warfare, made a level to generate some controversy and sent it out into the world. There's nothing new here apart from it's ability to cause deja vu. There's no artistry here, it's a product to be sold. That is all.
I'd talk about the multiplayer, but getting my ass handed to me every five seconds just isn't my idea of fun.
Once again my PS3 is relagated to being a really expensive DVD player. I've even got bored of Guitar Hero.
