My weekend was a total write off. Friday evening I got home from work, had some dinner, then had a shower. Within minutes of getting out of the shower I was a mess.
The fever kicked in, then I couldn't stop coughing or shivering.
I was tempted to call the ambulance around 2am on Saturday, but I had a shower and went back on my nebuliser. I managed to stabilise myself.. until 7am.
I tried the shower trick again, but no success. Ambulance was called, and I was promptly taken off to the Emergency Department. I was there for a few hours while they pumped me full of fluids, antibiotics and nebs.
I was tachycardic and my temperature was all over the place.
I was admitted by 4pm, and for anyone who visits a public hospital, that's not bad timing.
Spent two nights in the hospital. The first night was fucking awful. I got no sleep, my temperature was fucked again. I was just too hot to sleep.
Last night, I got just over 5 hours sleep. My nurse was amazing. She was so sweet and caring. She even tucked me back in a few times.
All my nurses were amazing, but she was a standout. She even liked my pink hair lol.
I'm home, and I'm happy. I'm still unwell, but in a better position to take care of myself. It's great to have my own bed, my own shower, and my puppies!
My boyfriend got a little playful with some of the equipment in the emergency department.
I also got to read this in the Inked Australia/NZ magazine. I was a little surprised there were no Aussie SG's pictured in the article at all.

Glad you're feeling better and at home Love being home after being in a strange place - hospitals are no fun! And kudos to your nurse/s, so many people work in the healthcare system that just plain old don't give a shit, & are rude. I don't get how you can be a nurse, and not have any people skills...but it happens!!
i hope you feel better soon!!!!
