I have no idea who gifted me a three month renewal here, but I would like to thank whomever is responsible. Please msg me privately.

Well, it's been interesting. I wish everyone all the best but I'm moving on. My subscription expires on the 12th and I can't bring myself to renew. See you online.

I really don't know what to think of Social Networking. MySpace scares me. Mostly because it represents the lowest common denominator, but also because of what I know of human nature. I was creating an account on Facebook and realized how frighteningly easy it is to electronically stalk someone. Sites like Twitter and Dodgeball are neat ideas for getting folks together, but Facebook, Friendster and MySpace really crash through any illusions of privacy we might cling to. I've been accused of being a stalker and I'm still bitter about it. Is the line between friend and stalker merely whether or not you like that person? If that's the case, I think I'm going to have to make a lot more friends offline before I connect with them online.

I hope WilWheaton wins, but I doubt the folks that would vote for him are all that eager to "register" just so they can vote.

Another week down... Tax weekend to boot. Hope life is treating you all exceptionally well!

Ugh. I've never liked Mondays. I don't know if I just want a three day weekend or for my world to be off-kilter enough that I can get stuff done without making folks work 6-7 days a week.

I had a good spawn day - got a couple cool gifts but ultimately the best gift was to spend the day with my friends at brunch, a movie and finally a (frankly horrible) Aeros game. We lost 10-2, but we've lost most of our good players to the Minnesota Wild so it's not surprising we're dead last.

I wish you all the very best in life - don't forget to enjoy the moment once in a while.

Well, I hope everyone had a good VD. I, personally, can't stand being told that I have to be romantic just because everyone else thinks that I should. I have celebrated the day I met my (now ex-)girlfriend for the past nine years. This is the second year since we broke up but I still consider it a better romance day than February 14th. Oh well, that's just me.

It seems we have a plethora of Presidential candidates just popping out of the proverbial woodwork. Needless to say, it's going to be an interesting year politically.

What's new in your part of the world?

Why is it that people often blame others for their mistakes? I understand that Misery loves company, but I just heard a local radio program where a woman who is being sued by the RIAA is blaming LimeWire because it was "so easy" to download over 600 songs illegally. The easy thing for her to do is to purchase the majority of the CDs that she acquired music from and fight them over it (or just pay the $4k+ that they offered her to settle).

Blaming LimeWire for breaking the law is like blaming Budweiser for getting in an accident after consuming their product. I know, for a fact, the software berates you on installation/upgrades to not use the software for copyrighted materials, so there is no reason why she should feel they are obligated to do anything.

I must be in a bad mood to take the time to write about this, but I mean really - WTF? I swear you should need a license to procreate.

*rant mode suspended*

Have a good day everyone! I'm heading back to continue working another 60 hours this week, wish me luck or a quick death.

Thanks to the series of tubes known as "The Internet", it seems Diet Coke and Mentos are the creative toy to beat this year. I've enlisted the help of one of my friends and we're going to do a little experimentation of our own. Wish us luck.

BTW, I have been looking for things that make me laugh recently. What things make you laugh?

I guess I've put this off long enough. One entry every three months sounds about right. *sigh* "Hello, my name is Allan. Have we met? I'm not new, but I'm new to you." - Sounds like a conversation I had at work last week.

A friend of mine has been asking me twenty questions (or more) recently. She realized (or suddenly cared) that she knows very little about me. One of the questions she asked was what would the title of my autobiography would be. I finally came up with it the other day as I was walking to work.

"The Day I Started to Breathe"

For some reason I was reminded of the day I "noticed" myself breathing. Being a rather automatic thing previous, I was intrigued as to why I was suddenly aware of it. My life has been a series of those events as the years pass.

I know. I'm weird.

It's really funny why people do the things they do. I had an opportunity to hang out and People Watch at one of my favourite restaurants after seeing S.O.A.P. (very fun, btw, just remember it's cheese and you're good). Everything from the passenger that called my friend a b!tch for parking in a space they wanted (they had just pulled into the lot, we had been circling for about 30 minutes) to everyone who laughed at/thanked/ignored me while I manned the front door waiting for a table to come available. It was a blast. Made me feel like I needed to do that more often, but it's summer and in Houston that means you can cook meals on the hoods of automobiles. White ones. biggrin

Well, I should get a bit of work done and then maybe I'll go swimming. Have a great week/weekend/month/life. tongue
