I'm counting down the days until my vacation! I have a month to go before I leave the frustrating confines of my job and fly into the sunny, welcoming arms of Florida! I am very excited, even though I will only get to spend 4 days there. My older sister lives just north of Tampa, and every year ther is a renaissance faire that sets...

Girls, chicas, ladies, dames, females... I haven't the slightest idea how to play the social games you sometimes like to play with us boys. It's about as frustrating as a monkey trying to pull a banana through a small hole: A) let go and the banana will fall; B) keep pulling and the banana in the fist won't fit.

I'm about to option C) fling...

if that's not how you communicate, don't go for it.

Tonight I am planted in front of the television.

Do not call, do not come by, do not expect me to leave the couch (except to pee and eat during commercials).

'Lost' returns.

In response to your question about snow: Generally, we just suck it up and drive slowly. When its really terrible outside, like it was a couple days ago, people are advised to not go outside unless they have to and to stay off the roads. They usually put in a tow ban at this time, so if you hit the ditch, you're on your own. Something like that anyway. I don't go out when I'm told its a bad idea. Sometimes the city sort of shuts down, but only when its really bad. The storm that just passed dumped a lot of snow and it got down to -45 C, not including the wind chill. People died from exposure. Pretty cold indeed.
It makes me wonder who settled here and why?
We're crazy.

I hope this suffices for an answer. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Here it is almost a week later and I'm updating on my lunch. It was fantastic!! I haven't seen my friend, the wonderful Catiedid, in some time. And she always has a nack for beating me to the destination, no matter how early I try to leave. She beat me again by 5 seconds. I pulled in just as she was parking her car. meh....

This part of my post is about the weather. Last week it was warm here. 70 degrees. Too warm for January. Now the nights are cooling to the 20's. Much more in line with winter weather. I am not fond of working outside in the cold, but it does give me a sense of normalcy. I hate it when winter really isn't winter. Makes me...

Hey man, come on out! I'll let you know the next time I go. I recommend taking at least 3 days (first half or whole day doing a lesson) your first time so you can get some good muscle memory going, but skiing is like riding a bike in that you don't lose much in between ski trips.

I'm still a bit wobbly but I have a great time every time.

I'll try that baby corn chasing thing. . . *shudder*.

Yeah, I'm doing okay with my decision. We'll see in a bit if its for the best.
How are you doing??

I'm curious about this new movie coming out called Cloverfield. I swear it is another Godzilla remake, but my sister assures me this is something completely different. So now I'm expecting Gamera or Rodan or some gargantuan GWBush ransacking New York. Is JJ Abrams the next Aaron Spelling? I mean he's got proven success in TV and movies, now all he needs is a...

Thanks for the well wishes on my move. I tend to sit on fences until I fall, and I've actually decided not to move. Perhaps I will when its not wintery wonderland out there.
And yes, living in boxes makes it easier to pack, but I've been living out of boxes for too long. I wish I just had a home already.
Canadian women are le best, by the way. Good on you for recognizing it. smile

Midnight has come and gone, the calendar increments advance by one. New Year is always a period of reflection, of resolutions and promises, dreams and aspirations. This time is no different. In the spirit of tradition, I have come up with a few things I would like to accomplish in this coming year.
