hello
-splendour was massive, fun and completly debaucherous. i even had a little festival romance: we got together at dj shadow on the saturday, called it quits at the presets on the sunday, what more could you want from a festival.
- if you have ten minutes of your life to waste looking at a bunch of drug fucked people you don't know, i put some photos up here. complete with witty captions that are probably not funny to anyone.
-
that's probably the only good one
--music wise matisyahu was amazing, as was atmosphere, the only rock band i liked was the yeah yeah yeahs, i'm just not a rock music person, i gave it a go, but death cab for-wolfmother-on the radio it all sounds the same to me. man i'm having a grumpy wednesday . surly tom they call me. the highlight was definatly the avalanches dj set, they opened with a wicked remix of crazy by gnarls barkley that blew everyone's head off. god i love that song. and that album. and there was about 4000 people singing it at the top of their lungs. they also played some daft punk and whole bunch of other great stuff, but finsished with the greatest dj mix i've ever heard, mixing living on a prayer by jon bon jovi into drop the pressure by milo. cheesy: yes. outrageously fun and crowd pleasing: fuck yeah. greatest mix ever. they're very much on the same tip as z-trip but without needing to be respected by the hiphop community so can be as cheesy and wack as they want.
-am working very hard but going very well. i'm mixing the first episode of the ronnie johns half hour which is now on at 8:30 on ten, which i'm pretty stoked about. it's lots of fun, and i love all the people who work on it, and it's probably the biggest and hardest non-drama thing i've had to mix. so woohoo. better get back to it....
-have you seen tristram shandy? you must. it is the greatest movie of the year. along with factotum which no one else saw.
