So, we got to the Bengie's Drive In Theater very early, well before the first movie. We wanted to make sure we got one of the premium spot for the SUVs. Fail in this, and another SUV might block your view. Fortunately, we were wildly successful, and got a spot in the first row for SUVs, right near the center. Which meant that we had to wait sometime for the first film. It would have been a perfect time to smoke a cigar and drink some beers, but the theater allows neither. That is, you have to buy all your food at the snack bar, you cannot bring anything in. We did bring a cooler full of ice, and they took a long hard look inside it. We just wanted extra ice for soda.
We placed plastic garbage bags and towels all over the interior of Aisha's brand new Range Rover. No stains!
The snack bar was full very early, but we had a strategy. We waited until the first movie started before we went to the snack bar. Then we bought the terrible food. Terrible cheeseburgers, terrible nachos, terrible pizza, along with barrels of popcorn with yellow grease on it and kegs or Coca-Cola. Just awful. Do not get me wrong, it tastes great. It has made Aisha and I sick in the past, but we now know to take acid reducers before we start eating.
The first movie was Minions. Nobody was really interested, though Courtney and Megan had seen the first two, so they kind of knew what was going on. I really did not pay much attention.
The next two movies were established franchises, though I suppose Minions is as well. The new Mission Impossible and the new Terminator. Pretty good action movies, but both give you a little time to wind down after the major scenes. We did take some time after the flicks to top off our popcorn and Cokes. Aisha and I love popcorn. If you ever hear of an Orville Redenbacher's truck being hijacked, you know it was us.
