Hey! The drought is over. I had an awesome date today. She was beautiful, easy to talk to and we just had a lot of fun today. We started in the International District and walked to the waterfront, along it, up the hillclimb to Pikes Place Market, through it and had lunch there at Emmitts Oyster House (one of my favorite holes in the walls here in Seattle). Then we meandered down 1st street, got some great gelato and wandered over to Pacific Place to see if we could catch Pirates, but it was sold out. Damn. We strolled down 6th and then to the library, a beautiful building of course, and being with a beautiful woman and discovering we were rather alone in front of this beautiful building, I really felt like kissing her, but I maintained composure and held off for a bit. From there we beelined our way to Pioneer Square and on a whim decided to go up to the observation deck of the Smith Tower. That was cool. It was such a great day and evening, the views were just gorgeous! Then again, I felt like kissing her, but I did not! From there, we ended up at Collins Pub and had some good food and drink and chatted in a nice cozy booth of our own and it was then that I confessed my desire to kiss her previously. What a dork am I? Yup. That's me. We were sitting opposite one another so I still did not kiss her even then. So! We left the restaurant and it was then that I took her hand and held it as we walked to her car over in the ID. On our way, on an empty parking lot, under the full moon and a billboard for a real estate or insurance company with an angry Philipino agent looking at us did I finally kiss her. It was great! We both laughed about the whole thing and it was fun. It was also a pretty good kiss if I do say so myself. She did and I agreed out loud with her. We had such a great time on this first date and on such a fantastic summer day. It was a relief to be able to connect with someone, of the opposite sex no less, so comfortably. I can't wait to go out with her again. It might not be for another week or so, but it'll be great again, I'm sure.
