Ed. note: After "It's a Wonderful Life" was over on Channel 5, WGN had a special where they showed some of the classic holiday specials that Chicago children enjoyed for generations on Bozo the Clown, The Garfield Goose show, and other fine programming that Channel 9 had to offer. The following is a product of fevered mind and a six-pack of Pilsner Urquell (that didn't get me nearly drunk enough to get to sleep)
Here comes Suzy Snowflake,
dressed in her snow-white gown
Tap, tap, tappin' on your windowpane,
to tell you she's in town.
Here comes Suzy Snowflake
soon you will hear her say
"Come on out and play with me,
I haven't long to stay,"
"If you want to build a snowman,
I'll help you make one: one, two, three!
If you want to take a sleigh ride,
The ride's on me!"
Here comes Suzy Snowflake,
look at her tumblin' down.
Bringing joy to every girl and boy,
look who's come to town!

Open on a living room with a small boy, aged 9, and girl, aged 7, playing in their pajamas in front of a roaring fire on a cold winter's night. As they play, they hear someone knocking on the window of the house's back door. Startled, they rush over and look at the shivering face outside.
Boy, Girl (excited): It's Suzy Snowflake! She's come back!
The Boy and Girl open the door for Suzy Snowflake, aged 28, wearing what appears to be a ballgown salvaged from a thrift-store.
Suzy Snowflake (relieved): Oh you guys, thank you sooo much for letting me in. It's so cold out there and I really needed you!
All three embrace. Suzy goes over to the fire briefly before sitting down on the couch as the children yelp with glee.
Boy: Suzy Snowflake, we're so happy you came back to see us this winter!
SS (exhausted): Yeah, Christmas came just in time for me this year. I kinda had to leave Austin 'cause it was time for a change from there.
Boy: Austin?
SS: Yeah, it's in the south, in Texas. Things were real good for awhile. Lots of people who wanted to build snowmen, take sleigh rides, both boys and girls, so I had a lotta fun.
Girl: So why did you have to leave?
SS: Well, Suzy Snowflake met a guy down there, who was real cool at first but then he'd get all weird. I mean, we had a lot of fun together, but when he wasn't around I'd just go tap, tap, tappin' on somebody else's window and I'd play with them. And he'd get all mad about that.
Boy (puzzled): He was mad at you for that?
SS: Well, that and he'd heard about some of Suzy Snowflake's other adventures. In Boulder. And in Portland.
Boy, Girl (excited): Tell us about your other adventures!!
SS (embarrassed): Oh, hey, don't ask... I just got over having to explain stuff to my Mom and Dad when I needed their help the last time.
Boy (gasping with awe): Your Mom and Dad?! Tell us about them!
SS (sarcastic): You mean the Lord of All The Forestland and the Frost Queen? They've been down on me ever since I left Winterland School and decided to do some dancing.
Girl: I love dancing! I want to be a dancer when I grow up!
SS: Oh, I know, right? It was all good, real cool. Totally no big deal. But they got all worked up about it.
Boy: We're so glad you're back again! I hope you can stay all winter!
SS (eyes widen, very grateful): Can I? Oh, that would be so awesome! I just need to crash here until it gets a little warmer. Then I can go to Madison and meet some friends of mine up there.
Girl: Tomorrow, when we get up, first thing we'll do Suzy Snowflake is go out and make the biggest snowman in town!
SS (visibly tired): Oh, OK kids, but please don't get up until like noon.
