FULL OF PRIDE
So yesterday kicked off the start of Pride Fest in Milwaukee.
And I, for one, had a blast!
Sarah, Shawn, and I pre-gamed a little bit in the car before we went in [cuz it costs $5 for a beer. Ick]. We added vodka to our leftover lemonade from Taco Bell and chased it with a couple beers.
We walked through the protesters, ignoring their shouts about sin and burning in hell.
We high-fived the welcoming committee and get our rainbow flags.
We walked through the gate...
And I want to stay forever.
So much love, so much joy, so much fun!
We walked around for a while, checking out all the shops, collecting as much free stuff as we could, laughing at the buttons and bumper stickers, meeting people, getting free hugs, and drinking.
Sarah & I got rainbow feather boas, which are pretty much the coolest things ever.
Around 9:30 we met up with some people at the main stage for the headliner, the reason we even came out....
Our Diva of the D-List....
Miss Kathy Griffin!!!!!!!!!!
We had to sit through some drag queens who sang and did some stand up, and they had to stall a bunch because Cascada canceled.
But finally.... Kathy came out, to be greeted by a huge crowd that broke the attendance record for opening Friday by 35%.
Yay us!
I've never laughed so hard in my life. She was incredible! And I'm telling you, the gays just LOVE her! My sides are literally sore right now from all of the laughing. And she didn't repeat any of her old material, which Shawn and I are beyond familiar with. =]
Seriously, incredible.
After Kathy was done, we had 30 minutes before Pride was closed for the day, so we headed over to the dance tent to see if we could find Timmy, cuz it was his birthday and we hadn't found him yet.
We ran into him on the way over [yay!], with just enough time for one dance and to get directions from him to La Cage, a bar down the road that will be hosting the after party.
We got bored with the drag show at La Cage, plus we couldn't find Timmy, so after I made friends with Angelface [a very pretty queen in a wedding dress] in the bathrooms, we went across the street to Boom, which was even lamer. So we headed to a place called Switch, which was blasting U and Ur Hand and drew us in. =]
They were having a foam party!
Omigawd!!
Way too much fun!
I dove right in, because when you're drunk, that always seems like a great idea.
I danced and slipped around, soaking my feather boa...
And my shoes, pants, shirt...
It was a lot wetter than I thought it would be. Oops.
We ended up leaving soon afterwards, sloshing back to the car, where I stripped out of my jeans and rode home in my undies. =]
All in all, a fantastic day.
And we will be going back tomorrow!!
If you're in the Milwaukee area, you should definitely check it out.
It's a blast!!

Looks like fun, though. I've never been to a foam party, but I puked on the dance floor in La Cage once.
