The little guest house we stayed in in Ptown was so nice. When you imagine the Cape you imagine this. It was so nice to wake up, go outside, join streets full of happy people up early on their own accord. Sure it's overpriced, but you just can not beat that landscape. We rode bikes, she got a flat, we walked the bikes about 6 miles back...yet not a step seemed like a chore. It was too nice out and too pretty to care, really.
We saw about 10 whales. I had never seen whales in person before, except for little belugas. These whales were CRAZY! I felt like I was looking at dinosaurs.
The beach went on forever...we played this game in the sand dunes where you climb to the top, get as much of a running start as you can, and just jump straight out...it feels like you fall a dangerous length, but then you just land in more sand and roll down the rest of the hill. Gosh, I want to go back! We could have hid in those sand dunes for days without seeing another person I think. Just the grasshoppers that hang out at the tops.
Oh and really, who can top TWO drag shows in 4 nights...I mean seriously. Miss Ritchfield 1981 stole a place in my heart. Provincetown...where the streets are lined with rollerblading drag queens.
On our last day, we got up real early and were the very first people to climb to the top of the Pilgrim Monument tower dealio. From up there you could practically see Boston...and all the early morning whale watches heading out to sea, and even more sand dunes and beaches and lighthouses, and the wind was delicious salty air. I love the ocean...I can never not live within driving distance.
But now we are back in Hartford. And school has started...senior year, the final stretch. I'm asking myself a lot of questions, and asking a lot of...
