Went to the SG book signing tonight!biggrin

There were close to a dozen SGs there. I didn't know everyone's name, but Silencia, Lyxzen, Toxic, & Casper were the most recognizeable to me. I was actually amoungst the first 25 to buy an SG book, which meant I got a free years subscription from Radeo! biggrinbiggrinbiggrin That surpised me, I figured I'd be a bit late for that.

All of the gals are gorgeous and nice! Nice to meet all of you!biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinlovelovelovelove

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110515/ap_on_re_us/us_southern_tornadoes_donations

"After tornadoes, junk donations become challenge"

" Relief officials inundated with donations"

Good...

"are sorting through the broken toys and used underwear they don't need"

EW. NOT good.

" while hunting for places to store mountains of vital supplies like canned food"

how about a walmart parking lot?

"In a dimly lit warehouse in Tuscaloosa, for instance, donated toys are piled 6 feet high"

say, are any of them GI Joe or Star Wars?

" as volunteers sort through hundreds of bags of old clothes. A 3-foot-tall plastic Santa Claus looks over the operation; volunteers say it came in with a load of contributions."

A THREE FOOT TALL PLASTIC SANTA!!
I can't think of anything more USELESS and RIDICULOUS as a donation item.

"Temporary Emergency Services of Tuscaloosa County already has 10 warehouses full of donations, but too many of those items are broken toys, dirty stuffed animals and used underwear"

ugh, ugh, and EW.

" that has to be thrown in the trash, said agency director Karen Thompson. While the warehouse space was also donated, Thompson said storing all that stuff is still costly because the organization must pay liability insurance to cover the operation in case someone is hurt on the job."

so being stuck with CRAP costs them MONEY.eeek

I'm sure various organizations appreciate getting USEABLE stuff, but some things should not be donated ANYWHERE. Put it outside your home in a FREE box or throw it out!

And now for something hilarious:
