So I gave the friend list a major purging. These things happen. The way I see it, if I haven't made some sort of connection with you in 4 years, it's more than likely not going to happen. It's pretty safe to say that I've maintained a fairly inactive group of friends all the while. This honestly won't be much of a surprise or all that wide felt. I like my new little list of friends. You know the routine, if you were cut and wanna bitch about it just let me know.

The thing is that I'm really not gonna do a whole hell of a lot anymore on this site. Love the site, not planning on canceling my subscription anytime soon. Just don't really have the interest or time to devote much of any attention to it anymore. Definitely gonna still check out the boards and you guy's journals. But I'd suggest lowering any expectations of having anything to read here anymore.

It was a great season. I loved every minute of it and they gave it a great run. Very frustrating with how it all ended. Glad to have been able to be part of it. I think I might have missed 2 or 3 games total this entire year. Fantastic.

While on the topic of The Playoffs. I think I was really the only person I know that liked the puppet commercials. Each one was terrific.

I love this site. Always have. I've had this account for 4 years, and a different one before that for 2 years. I've met some great people and some crazy people and a couple absolutely awful people. I think the site has just gotten way to big and has lost too much of it's community due to the size. There's way to many girls. I remember when they were all listed in a little drop down menu on the upper left side of the screen. There's just too many now and seems to manufactured. There's still some amazingly beautiful girls putting up sets, and they are great. I just miss when each set stood out and each girl seemed to have a personality and a presence. But hey, if I were Missy I would have done the same thing. Business is business.

And I've got to face facts. Reagan is never coming back. biggrin

Certainly not good-bye SG, I'm not going anywhere. Thanks for the good times.

CAVS SWEEP THE PISTONS IN 4 GAMES!!!!

fucking awesome! first team to the second round. Lakers aren't even going to sweep their first round opponent.

haven't been around much lately. but trust me, it's not been for bad reasons. life is pretty god damn wonderful these days.

a quick rundown.
-the weather is warming up and has been beautiful.
-the NBA playoffs are here and that's my favorite time of year.
-the Cavs are kicking ass.
-the new job continues to be fantastic.
-sexy time with the lady has been plentiful and amazing.
-we got a new 42 inch HD tv and DVR that has been taking away all my free time.
-i've been getting these amazing nuggets to smoke and that's kept my head high above the clouds.

just some of the reasons why i've been a pretty happy fella lately.

i'm sure i'll update in a more regular fashion sometime soon. hope everyone is fantastic.

great shirt:

[edited to say]

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
So the shirt's cut out of the shot. What are ya gonna do? It's a Kings of Leon shirt. Use your imagination.

For the first time in 32 years, I'm falling into a normal work routine, and it's pretty nice. I've never had a 9-5 type work situation and for the my entire working life I've never really known what weekends were. They were just always other days that I worked and something I might have to myself once every few months or so. Now here I am doing the 9-5 and one Saturday a month, it's very good. My sleeping habits are completely different now as well. I'm usually ready for bed around 10 each night now and it's seems normal. Before 2 am was pretty normal for calling it a day. I haven't even been able to stay up late enough to see if the Jimmy Fallon show is any good. My guess is no, but I'd really enjoying seeing The Roots every night.

One downside to this new lifestyle is that it's really cramped my style when it comes to SG. I've certainly been neglecting the site since starting the new job. But I'm determined not to disappear all together. I've invested too much time in this site since i first joined. Too long to call it quits any time soon, no matter how fucking terrible i think the new layout is. HEY STAFF. QUIT TINKERING WITH SHIT!!!! WHY DOES THE HOMEPAGE LOOK LIKE SOMETHING DESIGNED TO TEACH IMMIGRANTS ENGLISH!!!

Good god it's just awful. But again, not bad enough to chase me away. Besides, I need a Carmelita fix at least once a week. As long as that lady is around I'm not going anywhere.

So there's two bands that I just recently got around to given a listen to. Seems like everyone has been sporting a boner for both TV on the Radio and MGMT for some time now and I finally decided to check them out. TV on the Radio is nothing short of amazing. Now I've only heard Dear Science so far, but based on that alone consider me a huge fan. I haven't been that blown away by an album in a long, long time. Very refreshing to hear something that original and distinct these days. Really, music has gotten kinda shitty anymore. Very manufactured to our short attention spans and insta delivery lifestyles. Think about it, a HUGE part of the song writing being done out there is based heavily on how good of a ring tone it will make. It's come to that, trying to compose a great snippet of one song. Flo'Rida had the number one song in the country over summer for weeks and weeks and weeks and didn't even have an album out. Point made.

Bit of a tangent there, sorry about that. I've got this whole theory how Napster created the downfall of entertainment media. I think that Napster was awesome and opened a ton of doors technologically, but it's left a path of destruction behind it creativity. But that's a different rant for a different day. To sum this up, listen to TV on the Radio. It's incredible. As far as MGMT goes, it's a good time. There's a few moments that are pretty damn sweet, but for the most part I thought it kind of came off as a less inspired Flaming Lips. Last thing on music, I have no shame at all in admitting that I am looking very forward to the new Green Day album. Can't get here soon enough.

Fatality has a new set in MR. Perfect as usual. She's always stunning.

46 & 2 is probably my all time favorite Tool song.

Here's something really fucking stupid. This backwards ass Cleveland that I live in is not nearly excited as it should be about the mother-fucking Cavaliers. What they are doing is incredible and people need to be paying more attention. If the Browns or Indians were pulling off the equivalent of what they are doing this town would explode. Don't get me wrong, there is a definite buzz about them, but it needs to be so much bigger. Well at least I'm enjoying the hell out of it. 10 games to go this season and I think they might, might, lose 1 more game. They'll have to keep going full speed if they want to to finish with home court over the Lakers. It's fucking sweet.

If anyone of one guys would like to be buddies of mine on Facebook please do. If I can't tell who you are from the name, just send a little note that you're from SG. Here's my email to look me up there:

hold on to your pants.

i can't think of a more flawless woman on this site.

moving on......

been M.I.A. from the site for a little while. blaming the new job on that one. it's funny how much free time i had while i wasn't working. not that i'm complaining. i'd trade a little internet titty time for a normal job and work week any day. the new job is going great and has been really interesting so far. the company that i work for on the other hand, they kind of have their heads up their ass. the training has been a little shaky, and for lack of a better term, non existent. i don't know, i'm figuring a lot out on my own and i made some good contacts in NY that i call daily to get stuff explained. i had a conference call with my boss in Manhattan and she admitted that they've kind of dropped the ball, support wise, with the opening of this new location. apparently next week someone is coming to hang out for the week and cover a lot of stuff with us. we'll see how that works out.

my trip a few weeks ago to New York was pretty cool. I've never been to New York City before, so that initial excitement was fun. the first two nights there i actually stayed in Newark right across the river which was alright because all the buildings and street signs remind me of the Sopranos opening. for the third night they moved to the swanky ass Hilton right in Times Square. that day i was done with everything around 3:30 in the afternoon so i just walked around all evening, explored, and listened to the entire Beastie Boys catalog. i wandered all around Times Square and then started moving out and made it to the Empire State Building, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center and all kinds of place in between. the Toys R Us in Times Square has a ferris wheel inside it. i tried to do some NY stuff, ate a hot dog and later a huge slice of pizza, rode in a taxi and took the subway. the next morning i was at an office way at the bottom of the island in the financial district that was apparently 4 blocks from the World Trade Center. i wanted to make it up there and see the memorial but didn't have enough time to pull it off. all in all a pretty fantastic time.

i bit the bullet and started a facebook page. i kinda see what all the buzz is about. it's pretty convenient and all, but i've already had enough of people sending me drinks and lucky eggs and shit. i've had people that i never spoke to even once over the course of 12 years of public education that all the sudden need to find out what i'm up to. that's been kind of odd. lots of ignore button happening with my page.

my Transformer collection is starting to grow to a concerning level. i bought a few a while back just to mess with and have for sentimental reasons. and now i'm starting to run out of shelf space there's so many. i'm especially fond of the ones from the animated series line.

i'm going to do a quick dork count here in my office:

49 action figures/collectible little statue nick-nack guys.
24 elephants.
4 autographed pictures: Chuck D, Cindy Crawford, Chasey Lane, SG Saraphine
39 posters, pictures, drawings on the wall.
25 classic rock records.
0 record players.
2 strings of christmas lights.
1 Darth Vader replica mask.

pretty fucking dorky.

i feel most comfortable in this room.

i've got a lot of journals to get caught up on.

a collection of quick statements.....

i'm super stoned right now. i quit smoking for like 3 months and i currently am enjoying one of those "haven't smoked in 3 months" highs. in the middle of that streak we bought this great bong from a friend that until just recently i've only been looking at daily. biggrin

new work is awesome. i get a badge that lets me walk anywhere i want in the airport. i also apparently get to write my own schedule.

i've been on a gigantic Frank Zappa bender for the past week. the stuff has never sounded better and the genius behind it has never seemed huger.

previous entry segment:
skull what are your thoughts on these 20 albums?

skull a bunch of you PM'd me and asked who certain people in the last journal were. they were:

so the new job starts tomorrow morning at 8:45. i'm so glad to be going back to work, and really pumped to be doing something that i think i will really enjoy. here's the weird thing, i've got this nervous anxiety that something is going to go wrong. all these people have been congratulating me and wishing me well and i keep thinking to myself that i wish they would stop. i've got nothing to base these feelings on, other than my terrible string of luck when it comes to employment over the past 7 months. i've gotten close to so many jobs that i would like and had it not work out at the last minute. the obvious next thing to happen would be to start a new job and then have something happen. who knows??? i'll be sure to keep everyone updated.

there's a thread on the boards where you google a picture of your current feelings. i've done 2 so far.
SOMEWHAT CONCERNED

NERVOUS ANXIETY

interesting.

i sat down this afternoon thinking i had a lot to say. turns out not to be the case, i got nothing. so i'm going to cut this short this time around. i'll leave you with some random pictures of my favorite entertainers.

yep, those are the folks that have been doing it for me lately. in one way or another.

alright, Lakers at Cavs in about 15 minutes. time for me to take off.

my current favorite t-shirt.

so the birthdays are all over now. my birthday came and went without much fanfare, which is what i always want. Megan's birthday was yesterday and we had a nice time for that as well. my parents were in town for the past 4 days to help us celebrate which was nice although it seemed like they were here for about 3 weeks. got a lot of great food from the visit, so that made up for the nonstop nagging and driving them all over Cleveland to various antique shops. i did finally realize that i like antique stores, every one that we went to i found 1 thing that i really wanted. didn't get any of it, but plenty of ideas for future purchases.

i ended up getting the Leader Class Megatron for my birthday. it's sweet.

i've had a pretty good run meeting people on this site recently and have met some interesting new friends. over the past month and a half or so if you've been added to my friends list i'm glad to have bumped into you. a lot of the original people on my friends list have been disappearing lately and i kind of hit a lame spell finding new SG buddies. anyway, like i said before, if you're newly blue to me it's good to meet you.

someone asked me about my little top ten albums project i was working on. well it's nowhere near finished and to be honest it might not be for some time. you'd think that for somebody that has as much free time as i do i'd have it done. just isn't happening. i did however make this nifty collage of the albums that are currently in the top 20. trying to narrow it down to 10. anyway, here's a picture of what i currently consider to be my favorite 20 albums, and there for the top 20 ever. biggrin

you know i realized that in over 3 years on this site i've never posted a picture of myself on the damn thing. so for all you dying from curiosity here you go. i made sure to include one with Megan in it to pretty it up a little. biggrin

sorry for ruining the mystery to some of you, i don't really look like a pastel Hunter Thompson. but yeah that's me and the love of my life. we were in Atlantic City in that pic last year some time. i could go for some beach action right about now.

a few things before i wrap this up.
skull i'm glad to see that The Kings of Leon are getting some much deserved love here in the states these days. i've been into them forever and i know they're huge everywhere else. they really need to be huge here.
skull go leave some positive feedback for the set that Typhannie has in MR. she's the sexiest hopeful ever and needs to be an SG sooner than later. i got a spot in my faves reserved for her.
skull i hate superbowls that i don't have any rooting interest in. i guess i'm pulling for Arizona cause i always like an upset. and Anquan Boldin is the man.
skull Project Object is going to be at the Beachland Ballroom next month. i've got to catch that this time around.
skull the Guitar Hero Metallica game is looking more and more like a must buy. there is a lot of rocking to be done with that game.
skull GO CAVS!!!!

be good.

so in my last journal i mentioned that i would be making a list of my favorite 10 albums of all time and that i would share this with you guys in the following blog. well, i hate to disappoint but it's not done yet and i feel like updating. so hopefully next time. it's harder than i had thought. i sat down to really think about it and start writing my thoughts out and after a few hours i had it narrowed down to 20 albums. now i've got to get that to 10. just give me a few more days.

job news: this week i spent what seems like 20 hours on the phone doing interviews with quite a few different companies. i have an actual face to face interview with the one job that i really, really want next tuesday. i'm really hoping this one will work out. i've got a lot going for me heading into the interview. the personal recommendation of the head of retail operations, 2 great phone interviews with the lead recruiter and some lady from HR, i got a fancy new haircut and i've got clean pee. i have no idea if they drug test or not, but today is day 33 off the dope. not that i would hesitate scamming my way through a piss test, but it's a nice reassurance that i don't have to worry about it. biggrin

tomorrow is my 32nd birthday. i'm currently about 20% excited 80% who cares. it's not a negative depressed feeling or anything like that, it's just not that exciting. nothing cool about 32. i am expecting big things this year, so hopefully years from now when i look back on things i'll see the time that i was 32 as being a big time. i just got to make sure i make this shit happen.

list time:
robot watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall. damn funny.
robot it's currently -8 outside right now.
robot douche bags on TV are my new favorite things: Tool Academy and Sober House = must see television.
robot speaking of must see TV, 5 days till Lost!!!!
robot Flight of the Conchords seasons 2 is starting. good times.
robot less then a week till we are all free of Bush and his cronies.
robot i'm reading Catcher in the Rye again for about the 20th time. i love that book for so many reasons.
robot Lorelei is simply beautiful. do yourself a favor and check out her new set in MR.

Traylor Howard. how's that for a sexy name?? she's this actress that i've seen in about 20 movies and all kinds of failed sitcoms. every time i see her on something i'm reminded how cute i think this woman is and that she's way up there on my celebrities i want to bang list. thing is, over the years i never got around to learning her real name, and i'm sure if i did see it in some credits somewhere i never associated Traylor Howard with the cute ass blond from the show i just watched. well, just the other day i finally put 1 and 1 together and realized that one of the prettiest girls on the planet has one of the worst names ever.

Megan left me her credit card this morning and said that i could go out and buy myself whatever Transformer i wanted for my birthday. this is very tempting and i'm giving it a lot of thought. at first i didn't want to because i don't want to buy my own gift from her. but now i'm starting to think to myself, well why the hell not. i might at least go do some browsing. i'm really thinking about either:
Leader Class Megatron

or Leader Class Bulkhead

i'm off to do some shopping.

i can't get enough of this Diamond Dave goodness: HEEEYYYAAAAHHOUUUUAAAA!!!!!

endless entertainment. biggrin

so happy belated new years everybody. i hope everyone had a fun and safe one. from the looks of things everyone did just that. my new years eve was a pretty good time. megan and i went to a friends house who was having some people over, nothing too crazy. tons of good food, played some LCR and lost a bunch of money at it. made out with megan a little at midnight and then made it home around 2 in the morning. kind of odd fact, i think this was my first totally sober new years eve in about 15 years. my name is rod and i like to party.

while on the topic of "partying." i recently finished reading Too Fat to Fish by Artie Lange. sweet mother of god what a fucking mess that guy is. the stories in that book are tales that i've never heard before. it really is hard to believe that he is still alive. funny, as i'm typing this i'm listening to today's Stern show and Artie didn't show up this morning. AGAIN. turns out he's in rehab. AGAIN. what a guy. seems like my favorite people in the world are the ones who like to destroy themselves.

i'm currently building a list of my top 10 greatest albums. now to qualify for the list there are basically 2 criteria that must be met:

1. the album has to be just flat out incredible. just solid from beginning to end, capable of standing the test of time. something that just rocks me and can take you to other places. preferably while stoned.
2. the album is something that truly helped mold the me into the mess that i am. it represents a part of my life, maybe a stage or experience i was going through and upon hearing this album or any part of it instantly sends me right back to that moment in time.

i imagine in most cases each album will be a little mixture of both 1 and 2.

also, i have not finished the list just yet. i've got 5 solid entries and am currently working on the rest. i'm going to do a little writey-doo about them all when i'm done. probably next journal entry. i realize you are all waiting with crazy anticipation. it'll happen.

i'll wrap this up with this little entertaining bit of info.

FORTUNE COOKIES

i have a history of getting the dumbest fortune cookie fortunes ever. honestly, sometimes it's like a slap in the face. an insult to fortunes all over the place. cause you usually look for some sort of cosmic advice, at least something that makes a little sense and gives you some sort of optimistic view. the following is my favorite fortune ever and a great example of the nonsense i get. "Come back later... I am sleeping. (yes, cookies need their sleep too)"

i didn't make that up, i've got the damn thing right here in my hand.

and then there's last nights fortune. this one is more on the ridiculous side and another shining example of the backwards insight these treats give me. you know how the fortunes always have your lucky number on the back? here's last nights lucky numbers: 4 - 9 - 24 - 44 - 46 - 49. nothing to crazy there, lots of 4s and 6s and upside down 6s. now onto the genius fortune on the other side. "Your lucky number for this week is the number three."

enough said. have a lovely evening everyone.
