Baby Brain.
I once watched a friend who'd recently had a baby, unload her dishwasher and put all of her dishes into the fridge. Once she was finished, I sent her for a nap and put her dishes away.
I was scared that I'd get baby brain.
Turns out my fears were justified. Fortunately for me, my baby brain occurs with predictable outcomes.
I keep forgetting we have a dog
Unfortunately for the dog, this occurs immediately after I send him outside. I've put him out and forgotten to bring him in at least once per day this past week. Yesterday mydogfarted had to call me when he got home because the dog was blocking his entrance into the driveway. It was raining. I felt feel bad.

My mom and sister came to stay for the week. Arrived yesterday in the middle of a visit with Throttlebitch and Vegemite. Those two are soooooo cute. Vegemite was adorable holding Trillian, you can see her maternal instincts immediately. They brought presents too, I can't wait for them to fit! There's a FABULOUS hoodie, I wish they made one like that in my size!!
Mom was perfectly happy holding Trillian all afternoon while Laura and I tidied and cleaned some of the house. If we make the kind of progress we made today every day that they are here, this place will look like people live here, not like it's inhabited by boxes.
It was SOOOO nice to have mydogfarted home all last week. I love my time with him. Now that we have our little addition, it's even better. Watching the way he is with her really tugs at my heartstrings. He's such a great Daddy.

They say sleep when the baby sleeps... But it's like she knows when I fall asleep and chooses that moment to wake up.
Poor mydogfarted is having a hard time with the sleep deprivation. I've been trying to be nice and take her into another room when she's crying at night. I hope things work out soon.
