Supervising is going well so far.

Its definitely harder to lead people that are remote or in diff. states.

Have to be very careful with IMs or e-mail too .. No one can see the smile on your face.

Saw Kung Fu Panda and Hulk on June 15th (wife's b-day) ... Panda was awesome **** .. Hulk was OK **1/2 ...

Also been getting into Magic: The Gathering which makes me ultra dorky smile (I was already there) ..

I can also very strongly recommend Fluxx ..

Y'all have a fun summer.

I got promoted...

So this humble silly man is now a supervisor (and there was much rejoicing .. yayyy!)

Saw Harold and Kumar 2 ... Its fun but really to large in a way ... movie worked better with the tiny goal of getting burgers at White Castle. .. Has its moments especially

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
the Bush impersonator cameo for instance

..

Wife got a new job as a Junior Analyst two just after Memorial Day ... so things are looking up for us.

Happy May Day!

Saw Iron Man today ....

Completely rocked .. Robert Downey, Jr. was great, and even the usually annoying Gwenyth Paltrow was good...

Highly recommended and a heck of a lot of fun .. ****

I also saw The Devils Knows Prada *** ... on the DVD .. Took me from March 27th to watch it .. Good reason not to keep the Netflix ...

The movie was enjoyable and Meryl Streep has lots of fun .. I also noticed that watching a movie and special features took something around 3 1/2 hours .. This is both the plus and the negative of the DVD experience.

So see Iron Man .. and I want to see Harold and Kumar 2 soon .. for I really enjoyed the first one ...

Finally in the 60s ...

When you have a hard winter .. the warmth of Spring feels very nice (still some snow on the ground) ...

Looking forward to seeing the Stones movie and going off to church retreat this weekend ...

And playing some more Eco Fluxx (just got), Fluxx, Set, Abalone, etc.

Ed likes his games ..

Newest show into Ax Men on History Channel ..

Also enjoying "King Corn"movie on Independent Lens on PBS ... A great weekly show for documentaries.

Happy Spring!

Shortest time gray ever (A few minutes) .. Got e-mail that SG was over for the year as I logged in today.

Luckily had the funds to re-up immediately .. Working full-time is a good thing ...

Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Its awfully nice to see enough snow melt today that I actually saw green, for america's day of the green ...

And even if its dyed green, bud is still not Irish.

Happy Spring this Thursday..

Yay!

Got the Netflix again (starting with 1/time as a gift)

Upgrading to three next month .. .First two rentals .. Robot Chicken Season One .. Disc One .. this takes a long time to watch .. I love Robot Chicken but really can't watch more then 1 or 2 at a time .. ***

And King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters .. very enjoyable movie *** .. I actually enjoyed the special features more ***1/2 .. and strongly recommend the director commentary ...

And for TV (despite the writers strike) .. Still loving a few shows.

Project Runway (a favorite for a while)
Friday Night Lights (more likely to make me cry then any show on TV)
Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (Best Travel/Food show on TV .. BY FAR!!)

new ones I am watching .. The Millionaire Matchmaker and Who Wants to be a Supermodel (not sure of title) ... also enjoy watching Iron Chef America and Now on PBS ...

What are you watching?

I was going to mainly talk about how mind blowingly good the extra DVD with the Special Edition CD of Once is (and its really, really good) .. Great movie, possibly better soundtrack but get the Deluxe Edition .. the live versions in it are great.

And so is Once **** .. A wonderful movie .. one of the five best of the year (2007) so far .. along with Waitress ****; Juno ****, Knocked Up **** and the best I have seen so far No Country for Old Men ****1/2

Heath Ledger died today .. WOW .. http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20173072,00.html?xid=rss-topheadlines
This is probably the most surprising Hollywood death I can think of since River Phoenix ..
I did NOT see that one coming .. Neither did I see Owen Wilson's suicide attempt ....
Drugs and depression mixed can be bad ...

Definitely a good year for Soundtracks .. with Sweeney Todd, Once, Juno, etc (3 that me and my wife bought recently) ....

Also saw the interesting Milwalkee, Minnesota this last week **1/2 .. It was a good movie but made some odd leaps of faith in its characters ...

The movie I didn't make it through at home was Monster House .. anyone else feel a little sea-sick during it?

I am also curious to see how Cloverfield is for that .. my stomach barely handled Blair Witch ...

Who saw Heath Ledger coming?

Happy New Year ...

Caught 2 great movies to add to top 10 of 2007 .. Waitress in the last post also makes it ****

First I saw the beautiful and spare western "No Country for Old Men" .. both Javier Bardem and Tommy Lee Jones were awesome in the movie **** ... And I really liked the ending .. Just like I liked Sweeney Todd's ending ... (although the 2 are VERY different) ..

Also saw the lovely Juno **** .. Ellen Page deserves all the praise she is getting .. and as a cross-country runner in HS def. identified with Micheal Cera's character and wished I had a Juno back then ... Great film ... The wife loved it too ...

And hopefully the cold does release on Saturday .. I really don't like single digit weather F ..

Merry Christmas!!

So far got Good Vibrations Guide to Sex from the wife (v.v. cool)

Had a lovely candlelight service at church yesterday. ... The traditional Christmas carols are great music.

Its also odd to work in a call center and say Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas very often ..

And have seen some movies ...

One was in the all overrated class .. Repulsion by Roman Polanski (1964) .. Catherine Deneuve is lovely but I found this "suspense" movie to be boring and without much point .... Wasn't any clear reason she went nuts and this "classic" to me was overrated drivel. * 1/2 (being relatively generous)

Also saw Coffee and Cigarettes on the DVD ... Fun movie, interesting bits ... esp with Tom Waits/Iggy Pop and RZA and Bill Murray ... Definitely NOT the movie to watch if trying to quit cigarettes ... I wonder if the bitter tastes of coffee and cigarettes go good together .. Overroasted bitter coffee always tasted a bit like an ashtray to me .... I wonder if things like Breakfast Blend or black Starbucks taste better with messed up taste buds ... **1/2

Also rented the delightful "Waitress" **** ... amazed how well Keri Russell done in the movie ... and how sad the Adrienne Shelly died so young .. Really a treat of a rental .. v.v. good

And actually did get to a movie theatre this week and saw "Sweeney Todd" .. ***1/2 .. This might be the most goth musical ever made with everyone in white face much of it ... Fun music, good acting, well done ... Also with all the blood in the movie tempted to say "Red Rum" .. "Red Rum" ... Good show, nice job by Burton/Depp/Carter etc .. Well worth seeing and wondering how would do with other viewings.

"Todd" is also interesting for being so dark .. Most musicals are quite sunny .. i.e. Hairspray, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Sound of Music, etc ... And I heard High School Musical (and really a lot of Disney movies including Enchanted *** (with a great perfomance by Amy Adams) are EXTREMELY bright and sunny ...

Merry Christmas and what is your fav. movie this year so far ... Mine is still Knocked Up (but haven't even begun Oscar season watching yet) ...
