I've been transfered to a new restaurant, and we're doing tons of work. the_cowboy is in Georgia taking car of his mom, and I'm waiting for him to return before moving again. Total craziness. Miss you all bunches. I've recently been nostalgic for the SG gettogethers of 3 years ago (or so). Lightning in a bottle- it'll never be back the way it was, but I feel like that was one time in my life that I remember fondly, but that really was as good as I think it was. (Right now is pretty great, too. I just have no social life).

CRAZY past couple of weeks.

Bad news: My health has been really back-and-forth, and I think I might need to leave my job because it's too hard on my body. I hate to do so, though, as my GM seems to be trying to drive me out and I'm damned if somebody else is going to dictate my life...

Good news: My birthday was really fun, and it was improved by the fact that I was still basking in my happiness from the_cowboy ASKING ME TO MARRY HIM!!! He's helping his folks move into their new place in Georgia, then when he gets home, we're finding a place to live and trying to figure out the whole wedding thing. We're shooting for January of '09, but finances and venue will dictate quite a bit.

Had another surgery. Stupid vagina. I am waiting for biopsy results, and really appreciate all the voicemails of encouragement yesterday. Love you all.

WIne stuff has been good. Work is exhausting. the_cowboy's mom & dad are moving to Atlanta. His mom wants us to join her and open a wine & cheese shop, but I am really reluctant because I still don't feel super comfortable with her. I don't think I can spend that much time with her.

Wow. Got another promotion. Unfortunately, this just means more work and not more money. But don't worry, I'll be asking for some cash soon.

Wow. It feels like I've been gone a million years.

I wound up being sick because this spring was really hard on my allergies. I was sick for over a month before my doctor figured it out. Boo. But I'm better now- only tired due to the crazy schedule. It's a good kind of tired.

I got a major promotion, and now I am one of the big, bad managers at my work. In the few months since my promotion, we have replaced both the GM and Exec, so things have been chaotic through the transition. However, I really am starting to like my new position as I get an opportunity to be productive. The little bit of consulting I can squeeze in is going well, too.

the_cowboy and I are still together. Team Inappropriate going strong. We're looking for a place together, and working out how to both get our degrees and not starve to death in the interim. I am hoping to be back in school this spring to get an accounting degree (the sommelier thing doesn't open enough doors without a bachelor's degree), and he is finishing his certificate program in Construction Management and his Business Administration bachelor's. I love you all, and it looks like my life is really getting onto an even keel, so I am really feeling happy.

Anyone have mid-week days off? I need to hang out!

Being sick blows. I thought I had strep, but now we think it's viral. Boo.

Other than that, things are starting to smooth out in my life. the_cowboy and I are trying to figure out our future, and will hopefully be buying a house sometime in the next year (I use the term "house" loosely - "shack" is probably more accurate). We're talking weddings, and it totally freaks me out and makes me want to burst with happiness at the same time. I am also looking for a new job, hopefully something a little more stable than waitressing. The sommelier certificate hasn't opened the doors I'd hoped, so I am thinking about getting a regular 9-to-5 job and going back to school (again) at night for my bachelor's degree.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends, and community of the Virginia Tech shooting victims. I hope we can all be supportive and sensitive during their time of grief, and allow them room to heal, but shoulders to lean on. Please remember that the people shot are not the only victims of this terrible tragedy, and we must all be sensitive to others' healing processes. Don't forget to tell your loved ones how important they are to you.
