So I'm finally starting to not hate the new layout of SG. It took far longer than most changes to the site over the last few years. I still don't like the new pic layout up top, nor the lack of real profile information by my name. And it really bothers me when it says I just dislike Dane Cook. My feeling against the pile of shit are far stronger than that.
Honestly, I don't have tons to say other than that. Been working on my novel and my short-story projects although my comics projects are going nowhere it seems. I have purchased a domain for an online comics initiative I have planned. I'll have more to say on that in the next few weeks I'm sure.
I've been keeping busy with various other distractions. I found a great series of old school RPGs from a company called Spider Web Software. Been playing the demos in my free time.
Took the wife and kid to see TMNT on Sunday. Despite a few flaws in the CG, I've got to say I enjoyed it immensely. They did a great job of bridging the gap between the comic style, cartoon style, and the classic movies. And some of the voice actors surprised me. Patrick Stewart!!!! I recommend, especially now that it's in the cheap theatres.
Free Comic Book Day is Saturday! Set your alarms!
Am I the only one that just doesn't think Spider-Man 3 looks that good. It maybe the fact that the commercials still show a badly computer generated Spider-Man (now in black!) flopping around a so-so computer generated city. Sorry guys, but you still haven't made Spider-Man look in any way real to me. At least Ghost Rider looked like a real giant flaming skullhead. Sadly enough, I'm looking forward to Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer far more. And I'm really afraid this summer may prove to be a year of some pretty dismal sequels...
