I guess I am bad luck when it comes to working in camera stores. The first one (Hovey's) I worked in closed. The second one, Eagle Photo, is closing. I can't FULLY blame myself for that one since I was laid off in April, but still. I have the touch of death apparently. So come July 10, almost exactly one year after Hovey's closed, Eagle will close it's doors for good too leaving NO mom & pop camera stores in the seacoast, although I've heard River's was bought by a Newburyport family and is still open. But still, Ritz, who I can't even get a job with is the only one left. Camera stores are a dying breed if you don't have the buying power. It's sad. Truly sad.
FUCK!! why is it so hard for a camera store to stay in business or keep a job at one?! yeah, jobless... again.
Three months ago, the proprietor of Hovey's Inc of Portsmouth, NH died. Yesterday, Hovey's Inc died too. One less landmark/institution of the Port City. Now time to make way for probably MORE office condos.

Well, it doesn't matter if I hate my job or not, I won't have it after next Saturday. Yay?
Well, today, as we got into work, we were given bad news. Although we knew it was eventual, it's still always a shock. The owner of the store I work in, passed away yesterday. I didn't know him very well, as he had fallen ill (cancer) shortly after I started working there, but he was a wonderful man. He gave people a chance when others wouldn't. He was a humanitarian. He was a kind soul.
We'll miss you George "Hovey" Hovanesian.

Fuck snow!
It pains me (in more than one way) to say that. Really. I LOVE snow, but just not today. Plus, I hate the owner of this building I live in. When snow is on it's way and/or it's been snowing, does he get a jump on plowing the parking lot(s)? Noooo.. that would be too easy. So I got home last night hand ended up having to park in the street. I'm sure the town LOVED me when they came to plow the street.
So, fast forward to this morning. I get out there, start shoveling and guess who STILL hasn't been by to start plowing. Yep. I even left time to clear off my car, and shovel so I could get to work on time. Well, that plan was floiled and then the coup de gras; as I am sloveling out from one of my tires, I pull a muscle in my lower back, making it near impossible to even stand, let alone walk. But once the owner came around to plow, I made a BIG effort to go to work. I was there for an hour and my manager sent me home. So, here I am, at home, with a really bad back. So, like I started out with; fuck snow. I'm so pissed because I REALLY want to go out and find an Irish pub tonight, but I don't think I'll be able to.
How's your St Patty's Day so far?

well fuck. today i just lost my best friend of over a year. she didn't die or anything, but I lost her. Something that seemed small was HUGE to her. fuck. i feel like dying. i feel like a 15 y/o for posting that.
finally got my computer back up and running. i hate backing up TONS of shit, formatting and reinstalling everything.
I hate Christmas. Well, ok, I don\'t hate Christmas itself, but I sure do hate the shopping part. And I\'m mostly to blame though. For some stupid reason, I put it off until the last minute. What\'s worse is when the store you work in has extended hours the week before Christmas. It makes it harder to get to the store at a reasonable time when you think there might be less people there. But that\'s a crap shoot anyway. To sum it up, i hate Christmas shopping
ps- i hate christmas shoppers too, and well.... people in general. merry christmas.
pps- don;t get me started on people getting up in arms about and getting offended when you wish them a happy holidays instead of merry christmas. i shoot daggers at them with my eyes.
