- tonight i'm ditching the work xmas party. instead i will have a lovely cocktail or two and listen to some tunes with the charming digdug. a much better plan!

- i always want to know what kind of bath products a hotel has before i decide to stay there. is it just me? i think it's a good gauge. anyway, next week i will be taking a mini-getaway to a place which provides molton brown products.

- i got an A in my intro to computer programming class.

- my superfoodie friend paul is coming in from new york soon. we're gonna hit up east l.a. for some fish tacos. where do you like to take out-of-town visitors to eat? even if you don't live in l.a. - i just like to hear about that stuff.

i have discovered a wonderful thing:
the siphon method of making coffee.

my updates have slowed to once a month, i just noticed.

sometimes when my cat sits on my lap, i think: how is it that this little furry collection of cells walks around, and purrs, and eats? it's kind of weird that i never gave much thought to LIFE AND WHY IT EXISTS until i had a cat. i still don't have the answers, but while i wonder, it's nice to have a cat to pet.

i am blatantly ignoring both the powerbook battery recall (home) and the dell battery recall (work). if i fail to update in the future, it could be due to a battery explosion.

also: let's not talk about the dirty sanchez.

maybe i'm nuts, but i swear the site is still slower than before the redesign. it bums me out.

things that don't bum me out:
- my brand new car! and its accompanying new car smell!
- japanese eggplant, bbq ribs, cupcakes (not all at once)
- brazilian music
- kitty cuddles

i was rear-ended in pretty dramatic fashion last night



i had stopped at a crosswalk to let pedestrians cross and was hit by some behemoth vehicle that shouldn't even exist outside of the military. can i tell you about how much i hate suvs and gigantic trucks? HATE THEM. the guy didn't even brake at all. my friend ashley was in the passenger seat with her dinner leftovers in a box, which pretty much exploded all over the front of the car. i realized an hour later i had been wearing a headband and have no idea where it wound up.

so many people stopped to help and commiserate - that part was really nice.

my neck muscles hurt, but i'm not sure whether i'm really injured or not. just freaked out. the kid who hit me keeps calling and leaving me messages trying to get me to "come with him to his body shop and get this sorted out." i already had my insurance tow it to a body shop, who promptly called me and said it looks like a total loss.

on the bright side, i had been talking about getting a mini cooper....

four bbqs in a four-day weekend. not bad...

and when i got back to work today, my eggling had sprouted!!!!
