Okay, I just sat down with a glass of cider and some snacks to watch Frenzy and the final scene left me pondering the following.....Our hero beats a girl around the head with an iron bar thinking that she is in fact someone else (she's seemingly asleep and obscured under the bedsheets). We soon discover that the girl is actually already dead, having been murdered...

It's my birthday tomorrow.
I have no idea why, but my own birthday generally sends me into a melancholy mood. In an effort to drag myself from the doldrums I've uploaded a few things that have made me smile recently.
Hope you enjoy them.

To begin with - The greatest comedy sketch ever committed to film. I've loved this for years.

One from the vaults....

Bro: Been so busy lately. I'm actually leaving one job in a few minutes and heading over to a side-gig that I'm working tonight for one of my bud's clients.

I'll be sending you something in snail mail tomorrow. It's actually on my list of errands. Talk soon mate! - Rich

Bean just wanted to ask: Did you get the package I sent you a few months back? I never heard back from you and/or your reaction to it, so I thought I'd pop in and find out.

Hope you and family are doing OK this w/d. Please send them my regards...

Next time I come out, it's F & C in your town mate biggrin

I'm feeling nostalgic - All because I heard some shitty news yesterday.
It turns out that despite receiving a petition signed by 35,000 people asking them not to do it - the powers that be are finally going to shut down and redevelop the site of the London Astoria.
What a downer.
More than anything else it's just a shame that the love people have...

Thanks for the vote of confidence bro...much appreciated. I am freaking out big-time, but I'm doing what I can to keep things as normal as possible since my mom's wigging out enough for the both of us.

Question: Did any of your pictures of us from your camera turn out better than mine (light-wise or what not)...

I always hate it when I see the old buildings being torn down. Nothing is worse than having to say - remember that fantastic place ____? Yea, it's gone...
Sorry to hear that London is destroying history to move forward. I think it's a mistake. frown

Okay, It's time to update. The last thing I want is for another six months to pass before I leave anything worthwhile up here.
Thankfully, I've had an active week with some exciting things going on to share with you all. Specifically, I'm talking about last Friday, when I had the opportunity to meet my fellow SG user and long time acquaintance, TowrOfStrength .

Been a real busy week since I arrived home. I was glad to have finally met up w/ you bro. It meant a lot to me that you were part of one of the best weeks of my life...quite literally.

I was very humbled to have met your family too: They are wonderful man. Maybe one day I'll find another gal to let in. For now I'm just strumming along life one day @ a time.

Just so you know, we'll definitely do curry next time I'm out...or if you guys come out here, I'll have to take you to get a good slice of pizza & excellent chinese food. Take care my friend...and have a fantastic weekend.

Oh my goodness,
I can't believe that it's been almost 6 months since I logged on and left an entry on my journal. I can't believe that we're part-way through February already and I haven't even logged on to wish anybody a happy new year!
What a chump.
And what a shame. There's too much good stuff going on here to not be involved. Too...

Bro...are you kidding? I was thinking multiple pints, a bit of pub food, and ending the night w/ some curry. Nothing like curry on your side of the pond bro!

It'll be cool whatever happens man...hanging out is way overdue!

See you soon (literally!)

Hi everyone.
Feeling bad about not getting in touch on here as often as I used to. Journal entries are certainly becoming too few these days, mainly because of a seemingly endless stream of commitments keeping me out of the house, or simply that I'm working too hard at the job that pays me. This is leaving me feeling pretty tired most of the time...

Happy Holidays Bean...I hope you're filling your belly w/ tasty food and great friggin' brew! - Rich

Bro...Hope your New Year was festive! I was hoping to hear from you soon since the end of February is closer than we think. I was hoping to hit you up on more info on hotels near you (Croydon, right?) as well as bus or train schedules to see if it's a viable area to get a room while I'm in the UK vs. getting a room right near the venue. I talked to a representative @ See Tickets and they said the tickets are going to be printed up this week so hopefully we'll finally start getting them soon. I was also wondering which night you got tickets for? OK that's about it for now...talk to you soon man - Rich

Picture this. I'm standing in crowd. A large number of those around me are dressed from top to toe in faded denim. With gusto they cheer wildly at a 40 ft high screen print of a menacing skull. In my left hand I'm holding a flimsy plastic cup containing overpriced weak frothy beer. All around me there is signage to remind patrons that "official merchandise...

Hey bro just wanted to return the greetings. I had to call out of work today because I messed up my back over the weekend. I really don't even know how it happened, but it's so bad that I can't even lay down w/o being in immense pain (especially when I move in bed or when I try to get out of it). I slept sitting down on the couch for the past 2 nights now...ugh!

The book was fantastic! Tell you wife to stay away from the internet or any sort of press (that includes the BBC, ITV, SKY, or the radio)...she'll get spoilers all over the place!
tos:
Hell ya bro: I think we all need a night of insanity every blue moon...just to keep the little we have left (as ironic as it is...)

Finally, at last I'm back in Cyberspace.
Apologies are due to all of you who may be under the impression that I've ceased all communication due to lack of interest. Not so. The truth is that life has been a bit a bit of a hurricane since the birth of my second child. His arrival has sent his older sister into a state of hyperactivity;...

wow, that's a great story. I mean I couldn't give two hoots about royalty in itself but that does make for a great story. Your description of the entourage gave me quite a chuckle too. Funnily enough I recently watched the film, The Queen with Helen Mirren. Again, I watched it because of the quality of the cast rather than a particular interest in the royals themselves but I found it fascinating. Not only is it a great film, it's a very thought provoking piece concerning the royal family. If you haven't seen it I would greatly recommend it. Remarkably it managed to muster some degree of sympathy in me for the queen. Although my opinion of Phillip as an obnoxious piece of shit was merely reinforced.

I'm glad you liked the piece on religion. It's throwaway but I had good fun writing it.

As for the thing on the Water Margin, yeah, that's funny. I actually quite like the fact that you saw it, in some sort of oblique way it serves to validate the interactions that happen here. Like, we're telling the truth, we are real people and there is some sort of link between this and reality; it's not all ones and zeros.

Glad you liked the Pan Sonic and Growing too. They're both interesting projects.

Sounds like things are pretty full on with the family. Kids are great but hard work when they're doing their whirling dervish routine. I don't think I could handle the lack of sleep...!

Anyways, take it easy fella, and when do I get to hear some of your music?
zetetic:
Oh yeah, and if you haven't already, you should check out lastfm.com.

it's a great site to listen to music, find out more stuff and keep up with what friends are listening to.
