I have a crack in my toe, a benign lump in my boob, and a goatee sliver in my hand.
It turned out that it wasn't the voodoo lady who was responsible for this but instead Mr. Boots, the adorably obese kitty cat of unspeakable horror who would like nothing more than to feast upon your deliciously decadent thought waves (buffet style) by using his psychic vampire powers:
Y'know, you'd think that since I'm on break I'd have scads of free time but I'm just as, IF NOT MORE, busy than when I was still in school. There's no way I can read nearly as many books as I wanted, but I guess that's just the way things go. I guess I should be pretty happy that people want to get together, which IS nice, but what I really want is just time to myself.
I have seen the following movies, though:
Blood Simple
Manchurian Candidate (remake)
The Player
Sky High
Scanners (which has the most intense fight scene ever filmed of two people staring at each other)
Old Boy
Take the Money and Run
maybe some others...?
My recommendations? Fuckin Old Boy, a Korean "revenge" movie that takes a perverse twist at the end. I can say no more! but damn. good, disturbing shit.
I also have a newfound appreciation for Woody Allen movies. Sure, with thirty-some flicks he's bound to produce a few turds, but so far I've found them endearing and they crack me up. but by no means flawless...
And dammit, one of these days I WILL see The Squid and the Whale. and Brokeback Mountain, a movie that had three shows one night and were sold out HOURS before their screenings. "Nobody will see this piece of blasphemous and hedonistic liberal propoganda" my ass.
Whitney's already got two interviews with two companies about going to Japan and I have yet to apply. My bud Jason, who was also going come to Japan, probably won't any longer. but that was really to be expected. It's damn good to have him back for winter break, though.
Other friends can be likened to being on a train traveling on a track that's out a few hundred yards ahead. Because there really isn't anything you can do, you just sit back and enjoy the ride before you inexorably crash and meet your demise. it's not...an enjoyable thing to witness.
By the way, this is one damn fine comic:
In other news, at least one new picture should be posted in about half of the picture folders. If not, they shall be posted anon! but for now, string cheese awaits. which I seem to keep misplacing...
