My name is Jorge Regula and I'm a chimbley sweep. I also think I've had just about enough of this short hair crap I've had goin on for awhile.
I'll have to write this post hastily since I have to get up early tomorrow morning and there's still so much to do tonight. Tomorrow I, along with the other teachers, am going camping until Friday with my 6th graders from student teaching. I dunno how great of a chaperone I'm gonna be since I've barely gone camping in my life. An outdoorsman I am not. How am I ever gonna survive without my tv box, movin' pictures, and interweb?
On the day of my college graduation party I received a letter from my college saying that they didn't get my transcripts from the U of M, thus prohibiting me from graduating at the moment. what the fuck. and how many times can someone possibly be asked the question, "So now what are your plans"? Must I shake my fist vigorously at everyone? At least one of my relatives had the decency to give me a bottle of rum for a grad gift.
Well, the Midsummer Night's Dream production was pretty friggin awesome and I'm really glad I went. Everyone in the cast was Asian aside for the guys who played Lysander and Quince, who were Caucasian. I think the costumes were Japanese, but the fairies, or "spirits," wore Korean clothes, including looooong sleeves that covered their hands. Afterwards there was a post-production discussion with the director and cast, which was aight and left something to be desired but it was still pretty keen. I can't stress enough how great of a performance it was. ::swoon::
I recently discovered a nifty little local band called Painted Saints while playing Scrabble in a pub, which has an accordian/guitar/clarinet player, a cello player, and a guy who plays a saw and something that sounds like a violin but stands upright like the cello. oh lordy. Anything bassy like the cello and baritone sax makes me have an orgasm instantaneously. and they did a cover of Neutral Milk Hotel's "Oh Comely." How fuckin cool is that.
I got the chance to see X3 over the weekend and, uhm, yeeeaaah. twas okay. there was lots of squandered potential, in my view. there was some good action but DEAR LORD some of the lines were hammy. and I am not a fan of the ham. There were a few intriguing parallels, however. The one scene that's almost identical to an abortion clinic was particularly interesting.
well I'm off to complete my packing and whatnot. I won't be back for a few days but I'm sure no one'll notice since I only post once ever 1.5 weeks on average.
-vanish!-
