And the change taking place around me continues
Weekend drinking partner moved back home
Sure
My liver's a little safer now
At least that's what I keep telling myself
But in all actuality
It really isn't
Instead of doing a day's worth of drinking with one person, I've had to spread it out
Different groups at distinct levels of drunkenness
Trying to play catch-up
Slowing my pace
All to maintain the balance
This past Saturday was no different:
Brunch with one set of people
Afternoon drinks with another
Early evening with yet another group
Followed by a house call to visit with still more people
All this before ending my evening with one more stop
Another new set of people
A stop where it all finally caught up with me
A stop where the "hey, who wants shots?" question was asked
A question I of course answered with a yes
This just might be the catalyst that triggered my urge to dance
For those of you who have yet to witness this phenomenon:
It's a sight to behold

Toss in a little uncoordinated Kid-N-Play moves circa House Party
And that's Dancin' Mike
And next week brings yet another change:
A new roommate
So many new things to get used to
To learn
Mood swings
Schedules
Will she wash her dishes?
Take out the garbage?
Steal my socks?
Buy toilet paper?
Handle me when I come home less than sober and I can't and won't stop talking?
Guess it remains to be seen
"Everything is different, but the same... things are more moderner than before... bigger, and yet smaller... it's computers... San Dimas High School football rules!"
