There are a few reasons for metal plates in walls, some of which are to keep people from drilling in to wires or pipes. It could have been the back of an electical box on the other side of the wall, a metal stud, rather than wood, or random garbage that the builder left in the intombed in the wall rather than throw out. Or maybe you were trying to drill into some one's flush wall mounted flat screen tv.

The new guy at work is a red seal cook who worked in restaurants for years so I asked him where he draws the line. I was a bit surprised by his answer, he went with chef first and then cook. Rememded me about 'I smart enought to know how little I know' . He said that everyone who came out of school would come into work with their whites on and say I'm a chef and be all ego. Apparently it says 'Cook' on the red seal you get when you finish cooking school. Curse english for it unpredicatble word uses good luck grand prelate of the kitchen.

Any update on how the tires are holding up?

d20 is right. i kept getting flats for a stretch, until i felt around the tire and found a thorn stuck in it.

I made an aubergine curry recently and that was really good. I used less fluid than the recipe and served it with boiled Sushi rice, done as plain sticky rice. Totally yummy.

I recently complained about what the laundromat had done to my new shirt.

"You have a new shirt?" was the response, then I realized my new shirt was 2 years old.

So I'm planning on making some new prints for new shirts pretty soon.
