I just won a pair of tickets to the Surfrider Foundation gala & surfboard auction. I'm really excited, not just because the event is $100 per person or because there's a host bar, but because some of the most beautiful surfboards will be there--going to people who will help pay to clean up the beach. I can't afford any of those beauties but that's alright. Seeing them will be great. I hope I get to meet some shapers and artists. The invitation says "Casual Cocktail Dress Code" but what does that mean??
I think I'm one of three people that entered that contest for the tickets and I probably won because that guy that works at Swatch probably threw the rest of the entries out. He seemed giddy that I liked my bloody valentine (it was playing in the store).
After that I'm heading over to LACMA to see "Riding Giants" a new doc about surfing by the dude who did Dogtown and Z-boys...and to party all night because LACMA will be open until 7 AM. And the idea of being at a museum overnight excites me. Shoot, the grand move for the Root Down is the same night too! Holy. Numark is spinning? There's too much going on and this post is too long.
