I just spent 11 blissful nights on a tropical island in Thailand, where there wasn't much to do beyond going for walks on the beach, swaying in a hammock, swimming in the ocean and hiking in the jungle – this last one I did the least though. Mostly I stuck to my hammock.
It was awesome. No internet. No phones. Limited electricity. In the evenings I drank beer with beautiful Swiss girls (below), and for food I mostly ate Thai dishes, like this noodle soup with prawns.
My bungalow cost $7 per night. Most days I spent less than $15. A great place to spend the winter.
But now I crave culture, so I'm back in Bangkok and in a few days I'll be heading north. I'll forever be dreaming of that island though...
