Long time, no speaky... Not from lack of want or time, mostly energy. The past week seemed to have evaporated again before my eyes with brief glimmers of where my attention was at the time. In short, there where mainly a couple of things...
Snow=Bad. I grew up in Central California. I vividly remember having to drive for two hours into the Sierra Nevadas. Up windy thin roads, past pines and sequoias and into thinner altitudes in search of Snow. Total acumulations for that region would be less than 2" and making a snowball & pitching it at your sister was a dream come true. Yeah, so that's bullocks. I'm a warm weather person. Gimme a scorching 105 degree day...spent in a shady chair, cool beer in hand and painted toes in a kiddy pool. I've had enough and so has my snow shovelling back.
The pseudo-impromptu SGCT hangout w/ SmokingBuddha, ElmCityDrunk and King_Of_Skulls was almost too fun for one sitting! Hopefully some of those folk who foolishly missed out will be able to attend ECD's St. Patty's Party on Friday. I will undoubtedly be there armed to the teeth with drinks and green cheer.
AlienPrincess and I had another large session of musical furniture on Thursday night. We have a small flat that's somewhat irregularly shaped so, there are few workable arrangements for computer-stuffed desks, couchs, guitars, what-have-you. With AP starting her nursing school program next week, she wanted to set up a stationary workdesk... No computers, no mulitple laptop get-ups, nothing but a place for school books and vigorous studying. For this to happen, I had to expel my computer desk, a recliner and ottoman, a bookcase and its contents. Good-bye practical storage, hello nice hand-me-down larger desk from AP. Big enough to support a favorite stereo & mini-recording set-up at least for now.
Plans for the next few days involve a parade with my group home charges, a day to sleep late and nuzzle and a day of getting tattoo'd. Pictures to be posted, of course!
