Belated New Year's wishes to you, my five bored readers... Hope your weekend was spent well, however your measure. I attended HonkeyKong's gig at the Frog Pond in Stratford. All in good SGCT fun - Drunken second set and stage shoutings, snogging chicks in my car trunk, slurred smiles and belly laughter. Sadly, I dropped the ball in bringing no camera. Seeing how this was some of the first New Year's plans I'd had in 5+ years, I had a lot of fun!
I accomplished my 6 loads of laundry yesterday so, I'm not quite sure what I will be doing tomorrow... *scratches head* I have to call back the morgage broker chick who'd been interested in having a few telephone huddles about my condo ideas. I also have to send off my father's Xmas card w/ included DVD burning software.
I'm not sure if I'd mentioned it after my trip out to Iowa to visit him over Thanksgiving... We as father and son never had a default measure of dialogue. A good example is weather. When someone has nothing to talk to someone else about, one talks about the weather. Lots of fathers and sons have sports - a solid inexhaustable topic that causes rifts, arguements, cheers, etc. All measures of thoughful communication. Yeah, we had nothing like that in common, until this year. He got into computer repair as a small garage-workshop kind of hobby. The entire pseudo-awkward time that I'd spent out there we had a new found common topic. Computer gear, upgrades, RAM amounts, etc. Anyhow, to regress, I told him I'd send him some software to dilly around with in "backing up" DVD's that he absolutely positively already owns.
I may go hunting for X Boxes w/ AlienPrincess after sleeping in late, drinking plently of coffee and lounging in our skivvies. I'd taken my younger brother, The Boy, about on Saturday to no avail. She's cuter than he is so, we might get the attention of the odd dweeb stockboy (no offense SmokingBuddha ). She's been interested in learning how to play video games... I'm of the mindset that "couples who play (insert topic here), stay together" and if she's willing to pay for half of a game system I can't afford to buy solely by myself than damnit, I'm gonna let her! Luckily, all of the accessories for those things are manly (if in some small way) so it looks like I win on most accounts. Perhaps more later or tomorrow, which ever is far more exciting (and thus more likely to get me comments).
