I guess the election results have sunken in... In the grand scope of the world, my vote and its place in it, not a lot has changed. Am I disappointed that Kerry didn't win? Sure. Do I think that the democrats ran the best campaign they could have. No, not at all. I've been asked in the past what my thoughts are in left-wing politics and my clear place in them... I think that one of the big differences between liberals and conservatives is morality and personal choice. I feel that liberals give very high value to the fundamental right to choose ideas and concepts and their existence in the world. Conservatives that I've observed in the wild base decision on cited example and authority. Though I feel I am a remarkably spiritual person, I believe there is no greater authority on myself than myself. The actual concept of choice, not what the inevitable decision is matters to me most.

I believe that technically a voter is of age enough to decide things themselves... Should people have the right to bear arms? Absolutely! How else do they make up for their miniscule penis? They can even thin out their own numbers while they're at it... Should women be able to dictate the terms of their own bodies? Absolutely! I've never been envious of women and the least I can do for them is mind my own business when first-hand vulvic opinion is given. Should gay marriages be legal, binding and sanctioned? Well, why shouldn't they? I've been lucky enough to meet more transgendered, bisexual and homosexual people than perhaps the entire state of Kentucky. By in large, they are perhaps the most open-minded sectors of the population. There are few groups that equally understand the weight of what's being withheld. Similarly to mixed-mariage laws that only recently were removed from the books, I think that gay mariage is a concept which is emotionaly obvious. It will be universally allowed in time, it's just a matter of time. Excuse the ramblings but, they're things that I've been mulling about...

So what's been happening in my world for the past week? I was called into work for Wednesday night. That meant that I wasn't able to take my place near the stereo at ElmCityDrunk's place. The plan was to pick-up SmokingBuddha from the Hartford area, speed down for the hangout, fly back up for midnight-ish and back to New Haven for bewtime before 1am. None of that happened... I pulled a big favor for someone who's bending over backwards for being able to spend my Thanksgiving in Iowa. Next week though, we are 'go' for ECD's. Perhaps even with a camera, too.

I rented the 'special edition' disc that was included with the Star Wars boxed set...There was a pretty amusing documentary of Episodes 4-6. Lots of footage of the actor played Chewbacca actually speaking his lines, grunts to be adding later in post-production. I've also been pining for a DVD-RW drive purchase. My 200G hard drive is nearly full, again and a lot of it can be off-loaded en mass and ignored. SGCT picture masters, movie downloads, work documents saved locally as another back-up, etc.

AlienPrincess and I also started talking about Xmas ideas... One of the ones we'd brought up was buying a XBox to hack together and load up w/ varied distributions of Linux, etc. It plays on AP's arcane OS lust and my just wanting a frelling XBox. *coughgeekscough* It's no wonder I fucking love that lady.

I just got off the phone w/ ECD. I'd forgotten about the proposed movie night...thanks again for the buzz! Maybe that's it for now then...maybe not. Tomorrow I have off and the goals will be getting a hold of DarkRabbit and catching up with him proper...possible making Monday plans. I might jump on a tad of laundry depending how ambitious I feel. I may also just elect to sleep late with my gal, get coffee and make eyes & sigh.
