AlienPrincess and I just got back from seeing Bubba Ho-Tep. I'd read up on it a number of months past. It'd seemed like something that would be worthy of catching but, it was in very, very limited release. Oddly enough, it ended up playing at the CINE 1 2 3 4, which is the second-run theater five minutes away from where I live.
The movie was a hoot. It's something that would play wonderfully at a drive-in... It was low budget, played on good chessy horror film ideas and featured Elvis (Bruce Campbell) & a black JFK (Ossie Davis-The Mayor in "Do The Right Thing") as the heroes.
Went back to the library after playing some overdues... Music wise, I checked out "Hamp's Boogie" by Lionel Hampton, "The Genius of Ray Charles" by The Man Himself and "A Fistful of Film Music - The Ennio Morricone Anthology". After finding out that their video rentals were extended because of Easter, I nabbed "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind", "The Conversation", "12 Monkeys" & "The Muppet Movie" based on that previous post. I reckon I have the next day or so to lay around, feeling all sniffle-like so, I might as well make the best of it.
So, anyone die their eggs yet? As long as I receive my annual bag of Cadbury's Mini Eggs and bag of black jelly beans, no one will get hurt.
