Can't talk... Working two jobs, 120 hours in 13 days, 300+ miles of driving for training conferences in Hartford, coming home to cook, clean, launder and pause...occaisionally to sleep. surreal

So much to talk about! With a grumbling stomach and ideas sprouting about what's in my fridge, I may keep my mental sprawl to a trickle for today...we'll see. wink

Saturday was the funeral for my friend and the whole event was far less horrible that I'd first assumed. I had this idea that was former staff (due to inter-office bad-mouthing of my ill-timed departure in...

seriously.. the only cup i have ever read. and i get alot of those cups... i guess something wanted me to read it.
i should start off to say the number 37 haunts me. for many reasons.
so ironic to the point of - it was "the way i see it # 37". and another reason - so many things have changed for me this weekend. and if i didnt live it, i would have missed out on alot of good talks, laughs, memories and last seeing's for a few awesome close friends for a long time.
that was the end for me after i read that.. i read it right after i knew i wasnt going to see my good friend before he left for cali. (i talked about that in an entry before the one i just posted i believe), and after learning my other good friend is being shipped off to Afganistan after christmas.
i earned all that, read my cup. and burst into tears in the middle of starbucks.

well.. that and starbucks is running my local coffee shop under, because a new one opened up down the street from it.
its my second coffee shop to go under because of new starbucks opening.
like that simspons episode, where the mall is turning into just starbucks coffee shops.
le sigh.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

Well, at least you've been keeping busy, lol. Then again, as long as i've known you that's never really been a problem, has it?

I hope all is well with you and yours.

Peace.

So, I've been having a conflicting couple of days... I hadn't mentioned it here but, the agency I'm jumping hoops for contacted me late last week with a quandary. All of the references they'd contacted thus far had been peers and subordinates at varied positions. The superiors at my former gig by policy aren't able to give more than the most bare facts of my...

In the spirit of 'If you can't find anything nice to say, don't say anything at all', at least I can so choose long gone SG's for my favorites... Okay, a weak attempt but one was made. This morning I swept through the site trying to take account of which sets in particular have been blacked out due to the rightly well-publicized 'black out' and...

the exodus certainly is a weird situation. i've got an idea of what's going on, but i still have a lot of questions too.

i bet if i went to more of these carnivals, i could find some old iron maiden shirts thaat have been traveling around with some carni since the 80s.

Over here, No Direction Home was the object of one of those saturation marketing campaigns where it wasa released simultaneously in theatres, on TV (terrestrial and cable) and on DVD. Actually I think the DVD's not out for a couple of weeks, but it's imminent. Don't know if it's the same around the world, but I wouldn't be surprised. There's also a soundtrack album that presents itself as Bootleg series No 7. I find the whole exercise a little suspect, actually...

Brief midnight update. I was successful in contacting the necessary go-to person within the previous entry's human services agency. She surprisingly had an opening available to meet with the agency's president on that same day. In the grand scope of the hopes I'd built up for the appointment, there's good news and bad news... The good news is the fourth interview went fine. I answered...

Glad we got to fit in the odd beer and chat this week. Thanks, as always, for the tunes. One of these days you'll have to learn me in the ways of geekdom.

More randomness in the way of my world this week... In the SG absences department, I've been talking to my missing sister, chiquitabonita. Charlotte is treating her well, she's up to the task of exploring more and likes the idea of new beaches to stare at and take pictures of. She and PornStarGuy aren't likely to be setting themselves up with a land-line as...

News in all directions makes me heartsick. Nothing makes me feel more defeated and angry in listening/watching/reading the petty reasons that thousands of lives have been ruined and washed away. Tonight I've been cooking and washing dishes to news podcasts. What can you day in response to Republican think tank officials who are in agreement of what organizations are at fault and trying to find...

Long time, no see, friends! I'd been without internet for a few days so, visiting the site and leaving comments has been a great sputtering of energy. Let's see if I can't fill you in proper.

#1 - To clarify, I am not married. I am not/was not getting married. The persons who did was my sister, chiquitabonita and my now illustrious brother-in-law PornStarGuy....

Thanks for your quotes in my journal.
It reminded me of this:

'Well she came from Minneapolis
She was looking for a change I guess...'

(Bill Janowitz, 'Minneapolis')
Anyone who tries to rhyme Minneapolis is a friend of mine!

And also this:
'I'm setting out my stall behind a sheet of dark hair, and you, the hostage of crazed hormones, will be driven to say: "I am the next poet laureate and she is the cherry madonna, and all of the summer is hers."'

(Paddy McAloon, 'I Trawl the MEGAHERTZ')

Basically I have nothing in my head but a load of useless quotations...
(but then usefulness is relative, I suppose)

Yay for the wedding! smile I'm a package handler (aka grunt) at the Norwalk hub. The buzzer sounds, the conveyor belt lurches forward... and the boxes never stop coming. eeek I have to remind myself that it's all about the health benefits, which I can't qualify for fast enough (it'll take me 20+ weeks).

"Waiter, I'd gladly take another piece of your pecan pie..." "Pecan pie..?" "Pecan pie." Desset leftovers have me swooning! love

Hello, hello! The family has landed and everyone seems to be getting on just fine. The wedding (as these things are) will be interesting to serve as a reunion of my Dad's entire family from NYC, the reunion of his seeing my Mom's side of the...

So...tired... surreal I woke-up uncomfortably early today as I had to launch an elaborate plan to miss a little work tomorrow. I scheduled a third interview at the foot-dragging human services agency that AmazonRed13 is working for. I phoned into work placing a little white lie about needing to pick up relatives flying for chiquitabonita and PornStarGuy's wedding on Sunday. In reality, I'll be freshly-scrubbed...

I was all hyped about seeing Sin City, but then was sorely disappointed in it. I don't know why, maybe it seemed they tried too hard to make it this great movie that it seems TOO overworked. Just MY opinion though. It just wasn't as good as I thought.
Kickball sounds like fun! I miss doing stuff like that. I'm killer at kickball!
Maybe if I move to CT for that job we can hook up a dodgeball tourney!
The sting of a ball hitting you in the ass or the thigh or arm..owwww. But then the satisfaction of getting out of the line-up to reak havoc on who is left! Mu-ahhhhahhahhaa.
Let everyone who wants to get to know me smack me with a rubber ball...hmmm. surreal

Return of the Son of Late-Night Updating! It is late as I had a late start to a re-mastering project I wanted to undertake... I'd brought up to someone the fact that I had an old gig of mine on tape, buried in a box and in dire need of it being transmuted into mp3. It was my last public performance, co-headlining an scholarship funding...

Hey! You're the first person I saw to list Reeves Gabrels as one of your favorite guitarists. And Robert Fripp and Reeves in the same list? You're a smart one.
sydfloyd:
HEy! Thanks for that info! I knew it had to be Eddie Hazel or Gary Shider. So wwhat was Reeves like in person? He seems to me like he's so smart there's no way somone of normal intellegence can hold a conversation with him.
