lost
you are.
that is what
they say
only they
have
no voice.
mine
comes,
goes.
these molecules
couldn't quiet down
enough.
all this water -
this ocean,
this lake.
even as
i crave what is solid/
impenetrable.
(why walk on water?
there is no sense in it.
only when nature
turns it freezing
should it be
allowed.)
the water
swallows
any part
i give it.
that is
its beauty,
its danger.
a foot
or
my head
the same.
you are.
that is what
they say
only they
have
no voice.
mine
comes,
goes.
these molecules
couldn't quiet down
enough.
all this water -
this ocean,
this lake.
even as
i crave what is solid/
impenetrable.
(why walk on water?
there is no sense in it.
only when nature
turns it freezing
should it be
allowed.)
the water
swallows
any part
i give it.
that is
its beauty,
its danger.
a foot
or
my head
the same.

Boy: "Look mommy, I'm a lion!"
Mommy *not looking*: "Course you are, sweetheart".
Lovely poem. I preferred it when it had the word 'lake' in it, for some reason
