how crazy is painter? I trip on how you can turn a photo into a layer and just start sliding the colors around, Or do your blending on a top layer without touching the bottom layers. The water colors are a trip too. I've been playing with it a fair bit, but every time i start something i think OK I wanna do something digital looking, but then I end up copying my oil style, but it just looks like... a bad oil painting.
I have all day off tomorrow. I'll try and do something worth posting.
I know what you mean about cheating, but I've always thought digital art was just that. I have a mental division between digital and traditional art. It's too easy with digital, and it's basically a tool so I've never cared how the images are created, just how they end up. With traditional art, i'd be disappointed to find out someone used a projector or something unless it's political art or a statement of some kind that doesn't require technical skill.
Let me know if you find any cool tricks in Painter. So far I've mainly been using the smeary bristle spray, without any blending tools. I kinda like that one.
