Well, not so bummed out today. Could really use a fucking cigarette though.

Am not so worried about work once I get up to Seattle, am more worried about self destructing before I get there. Need to stay focused on my business and the tasks at hand. Also need to do as much work as possible to save up as much money as possible.

I've plotted two routes to get to Seattle (well, Kent, same difference) from San Antonio. Map Quest recommends a route through the heart land that takes 37 hours and 10 minutes and is exactly 2463.02 miles. The only problem is this route A) goes through the heartland (I fucking hate the heartland - I hate anything so flat and devoid of trees), and B) Cuts right through Colorado. I'm not too keen on driving through the mountains with a heavy trailer and a light truck, especially in the fucking snow.

MY route is an hour longer and only 12 miles or so longer, but cuts directly through the Southwest and up California to Oregon to Washington. Naturally, this would require the Pacific coast route. Beautiful, but those roads kind of suck with a trailer. Well, at least there won't be any snow! Just mud slides and whatnot! Lol!

Definitely I'd go my route. Probably it'd take the better part of four, more likely five, days because I'd end up cutting through Los Angeles. I've enlisted the help of my father in driving, but am skeptical if it'll be any help. He's old and has a tendency to be an asshole when driving long distances (i.e. he says he's not tired when he's driving, and ends up falling alseep behind the fucking wheel). I remember coming back from Corpus Christi one day with my Dad and older brother (who'd come down to visit). I'd been up for two full days (they snore when they sleep and I can't sleep when people snore) and consuming large quantities of morphine sulfate (yummy), so I was dead in the water. My brother was the same way. Also, we'd been baking in the sun for three days, so we were sunburned and tired and not feeling great. We're driving home and my Dad's driving, my brother's sound asleep, and I manage to nod off for a moment. I snap awake and my Dad's snoring...behind the wheel. I punched him in the back of the head and told him to pull over. I threw up, took a piss, and then got behind the wheel to drive home. Just my fucking luck we were having one of those insane Texas thunderstorms, replete with massive amounts of rain and lightning. I saw eight lightning strikes within a mile of the road just in the first half hour behind the wheel. The rain was so bad 3 out of every 4 cars (trucks included) were pulled over on the side of the road and under bridges waiting out the storm. I'm in this piece of shit LTD that barely works, my teeth gritted, trying not to pass out, refusing to pull over for anything. I don't remember the last half hour or so of the drive, but when I got home I passed out for 20 hours straight.

Well, that was out of left field.

Anyways, so I need to go get cigarettes. I don't want to, but I need just one. Could use some TUMS, too, but the gas station doesn't sell the good ones (only the tiny ones that are always stale). Might go to the grocery store...maybe they'll have some Macanudos and I won't need to get cigarettes! biggrin

One thing I'm going to love about living near Seattle will be the proximity to the baseball stadium. I might not like the Mariners (though they used to have one of my favorite ball players of all time), but my brother (who is a salesman) get's awesome seats for the games. The funny thing is, the San Antonio Missions is the farm team for the Mariners, but despite living right next to the Missions stadium, I've never been to a Missions game. Too bad the Giants aren't playing any games at the Mariner's stadium. frown

I just looked over the whole schedule. Jeez, it's fucking stupid. Baseball would be so much more popular if each team didn't play each other ten times every fucking month. With 165 games a year, PER TEAM, it's too damn hard for anyone to follow what's going on, even die hard fans. I say let 'em play 16 games a year, per team, just like the NFL. This will make the sport more popular for two reasons. With fewer games, each team will have to play their heart out every game - so every game will be more fun to watch, more exhilirating, more intense. And with fewer games to follow, more people will get interested in their local teams cause they'll be able to follow the whole season.

Just think, one team in the MLB plays as many games as every NFL team combined, per season. One team. That's INSANE! That's why most baseball fans only watch the play offs, cause that's much easier to follow.

You should take the route through CA. if you are coming up the 99 or the 5, I will drive out and have lunch with you (or if you need a place to stay...)
