Bought a new computer today. Is exactly the same as the last one I bought (now defunct), only this one is a Compaq Presario and the last one was an eMachine. Pray to God this one is at least a tiny bit better then that horrible fucking eMachine.
I have a feeling I'll need to upgrade the video card on my new PC, like I did on the old one, but that's OK - I'll just pull it off the old one. It's a hell of a nice video card - top-of-the-line even still. Thankfully I think I still held onto the old install software for it and everything.
Haven't hooked up the new PC yet - don't have the energy now. But tomorrow is a slow day, so I'll do it all then. Made sure to even get some kick ass anti-virus software for the new one too - considering how many viruses this computer has on it.
Hung out with the gas station chick today. Was driving back from Circuit City and saw her a few cars ahead of me in traffic and called her, but she didn't answer her cell, so I followed her to her apartment (which is all of half a block from my own). Ended up hanging out with her for many hours. Watched "The Zero Effect" - very kick ass movie. No sex, but had a lot of fun no matter. Think I'll need to hang out with her more.
Well, I'm going to bed. Tomorrow I'll set up my new computer, cancel my horrid NetZero account and start a new account probably with People PC or Earthlink, whoever offers the best deal. Well, I know People PC does, but I am afraid that I'll have to sign a contract with them and that they'll end up being just as bad, if not worse, then NetZero when it comes to their invasive software and all that nasty shit. Will have to call them and find out.

Oh yeah, the only thing that sucks about my new computer is the utter lack of a 3.5" floppy disk thingy. This sucks, because my digital camera, though kick ass, uses those, so I'll either need to cannibalize a 3.5" off of my old "new" PC (that doesn't work), or just go buy a seperate one that utilizes a USB port. Don't worry, that's the extent of my knowledge of tech shit anymore. I used to know everything about computers, even how to build them, now I can install a video card and plug in something to a USB port - that's literally it. I don't know anything about anything. My 55 year old father knows more about this technical shit (like digital camera's megapixel ratios and whatnot) then his ex-hacker son. What a sad world we live in!

Don't feel bad. After studying C++ in high school and thinking I might major in computer science, I am not typing to you on the first computer I've owned in 5 years.
